ENID TRAFFIC VICTIM WILL GET FULL FUNERAL SERVICE

Complete funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Fossett Funeral Home Chapel for Eugene G. Holt, 55, address unkown. Holt, listed only as a transient, died March 9, 1966 of injuries he received when he apparently walked in front of an oncoming car at Maine and Van Buren.

The man had no identification on him at the time of the mishap was finally identified to the satisfation of Enid and Garfield Co. authorities. As a result, legal permission was granted the funeral home Thursday by County Attorney J. Russell Swanson and the Enid Police Department to make final interment.

Internment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in a location contributed by Ray Townley.

The Funeral home is donating it's services and flowers are being contributed by Enid florists. A complete service is being held.

ccording to identification and fingerprint records received from the FBI in Washington D C Mr. Holt was born Aug. 11, 1910 in Munsing, Michigan.

An exhaustive search for relatives with negative findings.

Margaret Ruth [Watts] Tresner Holt
October 4, 1919 ~ November 14, 2014


The memorial service for Margaret Ruth Watts [Tresner] Holt will be 11 am Thursday, November 20, 2014, at First United Methodist Church. The Rev Randy Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born Octob er 4, 1919, in Oklahoma City, the youngest of four children of Tipton Watts and Gertrude Stedman Watts. She passed from this life on November 14, 2014.

She attended Central High School in Oklahoma City, where she was the leader of the cheerleading squad.

She attended the University of Oklahoma, where she met Jack Norman Tresner, of Enid, Okla. They were married on June 14, 1940, and made their home in Enid, where Jack became president of Oklahoma Benefit Life Insurance Company, later Midwestern Life Insurance Company.

They had three sons, James Tracy Tresner II, Jack Norman Tresner Jr., and John Robert Tresner.

While in Enid, she was active in the Christian Church of the Covenant, serving as a deaconess and as wedding coordinator.

She was a member of the Enid Fine Arts Club, the Enid Garden Club, the Foster Grandparents Organization, and past president of the Junior Welfare League of Enid.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Order of the Amaranth. Margaret was past president of the P.E.O. chapters in Enid and Altus, and a member of a chapter in Edmond.

Some years after the death of her husband, Jack Tresner, she married Dr Willard Holt, a longtime friend of the family. They lived in Altus until the death of Dr Holt, at which time she moved to the Fountains at Canterbury, a retirement community in Oklahoma City.

She is survived by three sons; two grandsons, Jevon and Jeff Tresner; two great grandsons, Jester and Rhonan; and two great granddaughters, Jovy and Payden.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to the Museum and Library of the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma, Tresner Masonic Learning Center, with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.

Eldora [Wichert] Holt
September 23, 1922 ~ June 26, 2009


Funeral services for Eldora Holt will be 10 am Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at First Assembly of God Church with Rev Dan Barrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born northwest of Fairview on September 23, 1922, to John and Elizabeth Ollenberger Wichert and traveled the last path of her life on Friday, June 26, 2009, at St Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Eldora was a beloved wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She loved and cherished her family.

She touched many lives in her journey through life.

She was the music director for many years at the Maine Nazarene Church, and also directed choirs, sang specials and taught children's Sunday school classes and Vacation Bible School.

She married William B. Holton October 1, 1940, and he passed awayon February 15, 1989.

Her hobbies included reading the Bible, needle work, baking, fishing, playing her guitar and singing old hymns and cowboy songs and yodeling.

Eldora worked in the Enid School System in the cafeteria for 27 years. She worked as the main cook at Enid High School, the main cake, pie and bread baker at Dewitt Waller Jr High and Emerson Jr High.

She was part of the cookie ministry at First Assembly of God Church.

She made wonderful salsa, plum jelly, big cinnamon rolls and big cookies, which she decorated.

She loved her God and her family and friends. Eldora was a wonderful Christian lady who loved serving them all in any way she could. Eldora's love was unconditional.

She is survived by her brother, Alvin Wichert of Enid; three children, Glen Holt and wife Cynthia of Oklahoma City, Carolyn Lunn and her husband Alex of Guthrie, Okla., and Marvin Holt and wife Linda of Enid; grandchildren, Amy, Tracy, Jeff, Sean, Casey and Lacey; great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Kacie, Lydel, Susan, John, Zeb, Wyatt, Jillian, Kelsie, Madyson, Bethanie, Breckin and Zoey; and great-great-grandchildren, Lilly, Rider, Shindonna and Geneva.

She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters and two grandsons.

ervices for Doyle Charles Holt, 39, who died at San Mateo, California, Tuesday, will be at 2 PM Monday in the Darnall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Hollis R. Morris officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born in Fairview and moved to Enid in 1928.

In 1953 he moved to California where he has lived since.

He was a Baptist and a veteran of WW II.

He was employed with the government, working under civil service.

Survivors include his parents, Mr and Mrs Charles Sharon, Enid; a daughter, Karen Holt, San Mateo, California; two sons, Michael and Bobby, San Mateo, California; four sisters, Mrs Jack [Orpha] Fine, Menlo Park, California, Mrs Frank [Anna] Morris, Mrs James [Rosella] Dutton, Mrs Everett [Opal] Fine, all of Enid; three brothers, Leslie, Menlo Park, California, James, Temple, Texas, and Don, Enid.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Carrie Lou Rich Holt
March 20, 1929 ~ October 27, 2018


A Celebration of Life for Carrie Lou Holt, age 89, of Enid, is 11:00 am, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Westside Church of God in Christ under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Elder Wilbert Kearney will officiate, and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 2, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Carrie Lou [Rich] Holt was born on March 20, 1929 to John and Laura Rich. She was the baby of the 11 children. She attended Booker T. Washington High School. Carrie married Carlos Dale Holt on August 22, 1949, in Enid, Oklahoma. Carlos and Carrie had a total of seven children; Jean Robinson, Judy Hunter, Dale Holt, Stephen Holt, Phyllis Holt, Karen Holt and John Holt.

Carrie was employed at Enid State School for 26 years where she retired at the age of 55.

Carrie accepted Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost under the late Bishop J.L. Young of Lawton, Oklahoma. She was a member under Bishop Youngs leadership for 2 years before moving back to Enid.

Carrie Holt was a member of First Church of God in Christ, Macedonia Church of God in Christ then later became a member of Westside Church of God in Christ. Carrie was appointed to the Mothers Board and was also a licensed Missionary. Mother Holt worked in every auxiliary department within the Church of God in Christ.

Prior to losing her sight, Mother Carrie enjoyed many hobbies that included gardening, quilting, crocheting, sewing, traveling and playing the organ.

She also loved spending quality time with her grandchildren. Mother Holts grandchildren will tell you that she valued and believed in Gods word and she was willing to invest in her grandchildren by praying for them, providing them with a word from the Lord and a testimony about what God could and would do for you if you lived right. She taught all of her kids and grandkids how to love and play fairly with one another. She also instilled a good work ethic into all of her children. Mother Carrie knew that hard work was one way that you could get ahead in life.

Her favorite Scripture was Psalms 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.She would always recite this scripture with enthusiasm and zeal.

Mother Carrie Holt was preceded in death by all of her siblings: Pearline Atkins, Mary Ann Willis, Florence Jeffers, Essie Milan, Jeffrey Rich, Leroy Rich, Dempsey Parker, Marie Rich, John Rich, and Estelle Christopher. Mother Carrie also preceded these loved ones in death as well as Carlos Holt, her husband; her sons, Dale Holt and John Holt; and her grandsons, Corey Holt and Aaron Holt.

Mother Carrie Holt leaves to be mourned by her living children, Jean Robinson, Enid, Oklahoma; Judy Hunter and husband Delbert, of Wichita, Kansas; Stephen Holt and wife Carolyn, of San Antonio, Texas; Phyllis Holt, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Karen Holt, of Enid, Oklahoma; Evelyn Holt [daughter-in-law], of Enid, Oklahoma; and Janet Holt, [daughter-in-law], of Tampa, Florida. Carrie has a total of eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren plus many living nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Juanita Jane [Nehring] Holt

Graveside Service for Juanita Jane (Nehring) Holt, age 80, of Enid, is 10:00 am Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Juanita was born June 8, 1938, in Marshall, Oklahoma, to Helmer and Josephine (Backhaus) Nehring, and passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018, at The Commons in Enid.

November 5, 1977, Juanita was united in marriage to Bobby G. Holt at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Enid. They celebrated 28 years of marriage, before Bobby passed away in May 2005.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Helmer and Josephine Nehring, and husband, Bobby Holt.

She is survived by her sister, Nelda Johnson, of Oklahoma City.

Memorials in Juanita's name may be made to Ross Hospice, or Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Jannett Orlee [Vaden] Holt
March 18, 1953 ~ January 28, 2024


Celebration of Life Service for Jannett Orlee Holt, age 70 of Perkins, OK, will be 1:00 pm Saturday, February 3, 2024, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, 3002 N. Van Buren, Enid, OK, with Chaplain Russell Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jannett Holt was born March 18, 1953, to Leonard and Ludie Mae Vaden in Roosevelt, TX, and passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 in Stillwater.

Jannett was the youngest of eleven children and graduated from Carrier High School in 1971.

On May 27, 1972, she married her high school sweetheart, Lonnie. They lived together in Enid until 1985, then moved to Kremlin, OK in 2000 and presided there until her death.

Jannett loved her Savior and was a member and served at the First Baptist Church of Enid.

She enjoyed visiting her family, spoiling her thirteen grandchildren with extra love, traveling to the Rocky Mountains, and camping and fishing with Lonnie. Her love was unconditional and would always serve others before herself.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Lonnie Holt, daughter Jennifer Cox and her husband Jason and their children Jaelin, Jordan, and Jocelyn, and two sons, Jeff and his wife Anna and their children Elizabeth, Abella, Maverick, Matthew, and Jaxon, and Erik and his wife Helen Holt and their children Angela, Allison, Greyson, and Easton, two sisters Nelline & Rosie and one brother Lynn. Jannett was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Ann, dad Leonard, mom Ludie Mae, three sisters and four brothers.
