© Enid Morning News Enid, Oklahoma September 12, 1937 May 25, 1851 ~ September 6, 1937 John William Hoeberecht was born Near Boomerville, Benton Co MO, May 25, 1851. At the age of 12 his father was called into the service of the Civil War and Mr Hoeberecht accepted the home responsibilities of carrying on the in his fathers stead. Thus as a lad he was thrust into the occupation of water miller, and occupation he followed the rest of his life. On May 1st, 1872 he married Sarah Francis Johnson and the couple spent 65 years if happy married life. They observed their 65th anniversary last May. Mrs Hoeberecht died a little more that a month before her husband. Continuing in his trade as a millwright, Mr Hoeberecht moved to Coldwater, Kansas and later to Watonga, Oklahoma and then to Kremlin, Oklahoma. After his retirement he moved to Enid. Mr Hoeberecht became a christian and a member of the Christian Church in Coldwater, Kansas and was a faithful follower throughout his later years although his health did not permit him to be an active church worker. He was noted for his kindly disposition and fail business dealings. Mr Hoebercht was not ill long but with his heart divided in the loss of his companion of the years, his going was a peaceful experience in which faith visions happy reunions. He leaves to mourn him, six sons and one daughter. They are Mrs E. N. Woodard of Enid; W. H. Hoeberecht of Duncan, Oklahoma; Walter Hoeberecht of Enid; E. T. Hoeberecht of Watonga; R. T. Hoeberecht of Wichita, Kanssas; J. H. of Custer City, Oklahoma; and Ed Hoeberecht of Los Angeles, California. There are Nine grand children and one great grandchild, and many other family members and friends. Funeral services were held from the Henninger Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. J. N. Sours of the Central Christian church and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. |
