© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma November 5, 2018 A private family burial will be held at 2:30 pm June 21, 2019, for Charles and Peggy Hodges at Memorial Park Cemetery. << November 13, 1931 ~ November 1, 2018 Beloved husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather, Charles Oscar Walter "Sonny" Hodges, 78, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Enid Senior Center. Sonny was born February 27, 1931, in Florence, Kansas, to William Joseph and Grace Evangeline [Christy] Hodges. He married Peggy Marie Dauber November 3, 1950, in Florence, Kansas. Sonny was a lifetime NRA member as well as an avid sportsman and gardener. He worked as a plant technician for Western Union for 34 years. Sonny's survivors include his wife, Peggy; son, Charles Hodges and wife Lisa of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Debbie Watson and husband Herb of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; daughter, Sharon Crabbs and husband David of Enid; daughter, Pat Hodges of Enid; son, Tim Hodges and wife Sharie of Enid; 10 grandchildren, Leslie Dykstra and husband Jason of Pond Creek, Shannon Crabbs of Moore, Angie Everett and husband Dave of Enid, Sharon Hodges of Tucson, Arizona, Chris Hodges of Tucson, Arizona, Mandi O'Dea and Mike Harder of Enid, Christy O'Dea and Bob Ballard of Enid, Justin Hodges and wife Lynsie of Enid, Joe Hodges and wife Mimi of Japan, and Kati Hodges of Enid; eight great grandchildren, Jadyn and Ryen Dykstra, Haley Rose, Sage Kobera, Amber Everett, Robert Junior, Angelina Ballard and Reece Hodges; brother, Dale Hodges of Enid; sister, Claudette Druse of Enid; and his dog, Billybo. Peggy was born November 13, 1931, to Mary Jane Pierce and Franklin Dauber in Burns, KSansas. She later married her beloved husband Charles "Sonny" Hodges in Florence, Kansas, November 3, 1950. Peggy dedicated her time to working at the Central Kitchen, gardening, and taking care of her family and home. Peggy's survivors include her brother, John "Buddy" Dauber of Kansas; son, Charles "Chuck" Hodges and wife Lisa of Arizona; daughter Debbie Watson and husband Herb, of Colorado; daughter, Sharon Crabbs and husband David of Enid; daughter, Patricia Hodges of Enid; son, Tim Hodges and wife Sharie of Enid; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great grea grandchild; and her beloved dog Max. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Sonny" Hodges. |
© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma June 13, 2014 November 8, 1955 ~ June 10, 2014 ENID, OK — A service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Van Lee Hodges, 48, of Enid, Okla., will be 11 am Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Willow View United Methodist Church, with Pastor Lesly Broadbent, Rev David Burris and Rev. Dirk Hodges officiating. Private interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm today, June 13, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Van was born November 8, 1965, in Fowler, Kan., the son of Ronald and Jobyna Walker Hodges and passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Van was a 1984 graduate of Tonkawa High School. He then attended and graduated with a degree in psychology from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He was united in marriage to Debbie Gasaway on August 8, 1987, in Alva, Okla. Van was employed as a teacher at Springtown, Texas, and Chisholm Middle School. He was most recently employed as a conductor for the BNSF Railroad. Van was a member of Willow View United Methodist Church. He enjoyed music, playing and coaching sports. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor. His greatest love in life was spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Debbie; one daughter, McKinle; two sons, Kayle and Tanner; his mother, Jobyna Hodges of Tonkawa, Okla.; one sister, Julee Meliza and her husband Sheldon of Woodward, Okla.; and brother, the Rev Dirk Hodges and wife Lori of Keene, Texas; his mother-in-law and father–in-law, Chuck and Carolyn Gasaway of Alva, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald G. Hodges. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Jude's Children’s Hospital or to the family for the children's education with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
