© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma January 24, 2025 September 24, 1936 ~ January 22, 2025 Funeral Services for Robert Ernest Hill, age 88, of Enid, will be 11:00 am Friday, January 31, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, in Enid, with Rev Jonathan Gilliland officiating. A private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the United States Army Honor Guard providing military honors. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the funeral home. Robert was born on September 24, 1936, in Monroe, LA, to Ernest and Lois [Hobbs] Hill, and passed away on January 22, 2025, in Enid. While much can be said of Robert Hill "Bob", the most important things in his life are easily identified as faith, family and dedication to work. He surrendered his life to Jesus, his Lord and Savior, at a young age. He firmly believed that Jesus died for him and rose from the dead. Bob wholly surrendered his life to Jesus. God blessed Bob with the love of his life, Jana. They eloped in August of 1957 and were married for over 67 years. They soon started their family. Bob was an active member of First Baptist Church in Enid, OK, [FBC Enid] for over 50 years. His passion for the church and his desire to reach others for Christ had everything to do with his love for Jesus. After 43 years of service, he retired from the railroad. One of his most cherished blessings was becoming a grandfather/great-grandfather and taking the name Papa Bob for the last 40 years. Throughout the decades it was his faith in Jesus and his love for Him that filled Robert with a loving, gracious, joyful spirit, one that was always present in his words and works. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lois Hill. He is survived by his wife, Jana Su Hill; daughters, Cinda Bunting, of Highland Village, TX, Sandy Michal and husband Neal, of Martin, GA; five grandchildren, Tyler Bunting, Brayden Bunting, Jay Michal, Bailey Bunting, and Blake Michal; great grandchildren, Brewer Bunting, Everett Bunting, Brynn Bunting, and Leon Bunting; and one brother, William "Bill" Hill. Memorial contributions in Robert's name can be made to the FBC Legacy Fund, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Serving as custodian of the funds.
