© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma January 1971 November 19, 1900 ~ January 27, 1971 GARBER - Funeral services for Mrs Henry W. [Agnes] Helberg, 70, who died suddenly in an Enid hospital Wednesday night, will be at 2:30 pm Saturday in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Garber. Rev Thomas Moore and Rev Carlton Kjergaard will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery of Enid, under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home of Garber. Mrs Helberg was born in Fairmont, Minn., and came to Oklahoma with her parents in 1903, the family settling northeast of Breckinridge. She and Henry W. Helberg were married August 24, 1919, and established a home near Breckinridge, later moving to Enid. The had lived in Garber since 1965. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Garber. She is survived by her husband, Henry W. of the home; a sister, Mrs Walter [Lila] Helberg of Enid; a brother, Theodore J. Schultz of Breckinridge. |

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery She was a former resident of Enid, before moving to Hot Springs Village, Ark., later moving to Dallas , Texas. She was a life long member of the Lutheran Church. She was married to Walter F. Helberg for 51 years. She is survived by three son, Lynn of Houston, Texas; Wayne of Dallas; and Gary of Tulsa; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. |
© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma March 17, 1984 May 28, 1910 ~ March 15, 1984 Walter F. Helberg, 73, died Thursday evening in an Enid hospital of an apparent hear attack. His funeral will be at 10 am Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev Richard Peckham officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid. Helberg was born May 28, 1910, near Breckinridge, OK. He was a life long resident of Garfield Co. He married Lydia "Lila" Schultz on June 11, 1932. He farmed in the area and was also an insurance representative for the Aid Association for Lutherans. He worked for the Garfield Co. Assessor's office and the Treasure's office. He is survived by his wife Lila of the home; three sons, Lynn Ray of Vicksburg, Mississippi; Wayne Quincy, of Dallas, TX; and Gary Lee of Tulsa; eight grandchildren; two sisters and a brother. |
© Enid Daily News Enid, Oklahoma December 25, 2006 June 25, 1917 ~ December 21, 2006 Funeral services for Alfred Helberg, age 89, will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Garber at 1 pm Tuesday, December 26, 2006. Rev Joseph Myers will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Alfred was born June 25, 1917, to Henry and Sophia Helberg on a farm two miles south of Breckinridge, Okla. He died December 21, 2006, in Oklahoma City. He attended the Lutheran School in Breckinridge. On September 1, 1940, he married Aden McFarland of Breckinridge, making their home in the Fairmont and Breckinridge communities, moving to Garber in 1951. He was a farmer and was also well known for his ceramic tile work. He was a member of the Garber Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served the church for a number of years as chairman and Sunday school superintendent. He is survived by one son, Arlo Dean Helberg and wife Delores of Choctaw, Okla.; three grandchildren, Deann Powers of Edmond, Okla., Dana Glasby and husband Kent of Sachse, Texas and Mike Helberg of Dallas, Texas; two great grandchildren, Kalyn Powers of Edmond, Okla. and Aidan Glasby of Sachse, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and four brothers and three sisters. |

© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma December 19, 2013 June 22, 1925 ~ December 17, 2013 Graveside service for Betty Jean Helberg, 88, of Enid, Okla., will be 3 pm Friday, December 20, 2013, at Memorial Park Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life will be 4 pm Friday at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Revs Kenneth Wade and Scott Whittenberg officiating. Arrangements are under the direction Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Betty was born June 22, 1925, in Douglas, Okla., to Guy and Charity Garrison Norman and passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. She was raised and grew up in the Fairmont/Douglas community. She attended Garber Schools and moved to Enid, where she graduated from high school in 1943. She married Kenneth R. Helberg October 29, 1944, in Breckinridge and he passed away August 19, 1995. Betty worked for Saint Paul's Lutheran Church from 1965 to 2008. Betty was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, where she served in many areas. Survivors include son, Mike [Judy] Helberg of Enid; daughter, Kathy [Larry] Curtis of Fairmont, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two great greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Norma Bengtson, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dorothy Mogabgab, Thibodaux, La. She was preceded in death by daughter, Pat Nix; three brothers, Tommy, Leroy and Johnnie; two sisters, Marie and Delia; and two great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church or Horn of Plenty with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
