Juel LeRoy "Roy" Hays
November 18, 1921 ~ December 24, 1980


J. L. "Roy" Hays, Jr, 59, 1329 E. Cherry, was dead on arrival at a local hospital Wednesday morning after being taken ill at work at the Champlin Refinery.

His funeral will be at 2 PM Sunday in the Henninger-Allen Chapel with Paul J Enabnit, pastor of the Davis Park Christian Church, as the officiating minister. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Hays was born at Breckinridge, attended Kremlin schools and lived several places before joining the US Army in 1942. He served overseas in the European theater during World War II.

Following his discharge in 1945, Hays was employed at the Champlin Refinery and had worked there almost 35 years at the time of his death. He was an operator on the platform unit.

Hays was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife T. A. of the home; a daughter, Mrs Connie Gleason of Oklahoma City; a son, Staff Sergeant Gary Hart, stationed with the Air Force in Japan; a grandson John; his parents, Mr and Mrs J. L. Hays of Kremlin; two step sons, John Charles Swank of the home and Earnest D. Swank, Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs Maxine Schuelein, Sand Springs; two brothers, Darryl Hays of Kremlin and John D Hays, Buena Park, California.

Roger Lee Hays
October 13, 1923 ~ April 13, 2011


ENID — Roger Lee Hays, 87, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather died early Wednesday morning, April 13, 2011.

He was born October 13, 1923, in Waukomis.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Friday, April 15, 2011, at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-7:30 pm today at the funeral home.

Roger graduated from Garber High School and Enid Business College.

He volunteered and served in the US Navy for three and a half years in the Southwest Pacific during World War II.

Upon his discharge from the Navy, he married his wife of 64 years, Hilda Mae Miller. They worked in Enid for a short time before returning to the family farm northeast of Enid.

He continued to farm with Hilda Mae and eventually his grandson Braydon until his death.

He was a community leader serving on Garfield County Industrial Authority Board, school board and co-op board. Roger was a devoted member and leader of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church.

The greatest enjoyment of his life was spending time at his lake house, fishing and relaxing with his family. He never missed an important event in his children's or grandchildren's lives.

Roger was loved and will be missed by his wife, Hilda Mae of the home; daughters, Beverly Dodson and Vicki and Galen Sparkes; grandchildren, Braydon and Kerri Dodson, Justin and Elisa Sparkes and Brandon and Lindsay Sparkes; great grandchildren, Victoria, Galen, Kinley and Bailey; and three sisters, Bonnie Johnson, Evelyn Cassody and Mary Cassody.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mable Hays, two sisters, one brother, granddaughter, Brittnee Smith, and great granddaughter, Callie Smith.

The family extends a blessing and heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Chris Shearer.

Hilda Mae [Miller] Hays
May 2, 1924 ~ March 24, 2017


Hilda Mae Hays, 92, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, joined her Lord and Savior at noon Friday, March 24, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Lee Hays, her parents Robert and Louise [Wiederkehr] Miller, her brothers Edwin and Robert, sister Orlinda, granddaughter Brittnee Smith, and great granddaughter Callie.

Services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. Her Pastor, Kenneth Wade will be officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Hilda Mae was born May 2, 1924, on a farm north of Breckinridge, and rejoined her Lord on Friday, March 24, 2017.

Hilda Mae graduated from Enid High School and then attended Enid Business College.

During World War II, she worked at H.A. Mars Grocery in Enid.

Hilda married Roger Lee Hays, her husband of 64 years, upon his return from the war.

They lived in Enid for a short time before moving to their Centennial farm west of Breckinridge. She continued a very active life on the farm until the time of her passing.

She was a lifelong devoted member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church and was guided through life's journey by her relationship with her Savior.

Her greatest joy was being engaged in the lives of her family. She rarely missed an important event in her children's, grandchildren's or great grandchildren's lives.

Some of her fondest times were spent relaxing and enjoying family time at her lake house surrounded by those closest to her.

Her husband, Roger Lee Hays, has been waiting for her in heaven for the last six years.

She is loved and will be missed here on Earth by her two daughters, Beverly Dodson and Vicki Sparkes, both of Edmond; Vicki's husband, Galen, who was endeared as a son; grandchildren, Braydon and Kerri Dodson, Justin and Elisa Sparkes, Brandon and Lindsay Sparkes; great grandchildren, Kinley and Harper Dodson, Victoria and Galen Sparkes, Bailey and Brody Sparkes.

Memorials may be made to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church.

Graveside service for Shirley Hays, age 89, of Kremlin, will be 2:00 PM, Monday October 7, 2024 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. Services under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

She was born in Enid to George "Ed" and Cora Hailey on September 24, 1935 and passed away Wednesday October 2, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Hays; and son Steven Eck.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Sue Arsenault and husband Tony of Edmond, Kathy Ann Windler of Owasso, and son Jack Eck of Kremlin.

Ronald K. Hays
August 5, 1938 ~ November 18, 2008


The funeral for Ronald K. Hays, 70, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008, at Garriott Road Church of Christ. Jerry Campbell and Ray Rose, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born August 5, 1938, in Enid to Clayton Jewel and Agnes Lily Goodhue Hays and died Wednesday, November 18, 2008.

He graduated from Enid High School in 1957.

He married Jewell Mae Brown August 5, 1960.

He worked for Bond Bakery 18 years, then G.E. Failing Co. five years as a lathe operator and an Inertia welder operator. He then worked for Rainbo Bakery three years, then transferred to Dallas.

He relocated back to Enid in September 1992, and retired.

Surviving are his wife, Jewell of the home, four daughters, Betty Lowe of Fort Worth, Texas, Reeta Williams, Linda Poage, both of Enid, and Renee Hays of Ponca City; one son, Harvey Hays of Enid; one sister, Zona Johnson of Enid; one brother, Jerry Hays of Enid; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren
