Robert Challis Hartshorne
September 4, 1916 ~ June 24, 2000


Robert Challis Hartshorne was the son of Florence Mae Lowery and Robert G Hartshorne.>

The family was living in Cross County, Oklahoma in 1920 and had moved to Pasadena County, California by 1930.

He married his first wife, Pauline Cox Shelby on 30 December 1937 in Ponca City, Kay County, Oklahoma. The couple had a son by the name of Robert Challis Hartshorne Jr, who was born about 1939.

In 1940, he was living with his in-laws in Ponca City, Oklahoma and working as a clerk in an auto store.

He married his second wife, Kathryn Lucille Covert about 1947.

Robert Clyde "Bob" Hartshorne
December 21, 1938 ~ February 4, 2023


Funeral services for Robert Hartshorne will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alan Seibel officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Bob was born December 21, 1938 in Ponca City to Robert and Pauline [Cox] Hartshorne, and passed away February 4, 2023.

He enlisted in the Army in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1961 as a Special 4th class.

Bob worked as an Assembler at Failings for 19 years.

He married Mary Jerome October 18, 2008 in Oakwood Christian Church, where they remained members. Bob was also a member of the IOOF Union in Enid.

He was an avid bowler and was a 'Friday Senior' till 2022. Bob is survived be his wife, Mary Hartshorne; stepdaughters, Bonnie Haley and husband Frank, Dana Driskill, Jamie Tambornino; half sister, Linda Bowen; grandchildren, Lane and Lindsey Driskill; great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beatrice Anderson; infant brother, Jerry Hartshorne; step mom, Katherine Hartshorne; step sisters, Beverly and Brenda.

Memorial donations may be made to the DAV with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.

Infant Daughter Hartshorne
July 18, 1970 ~ July 18, 1970


Graveside services will be conducted at 9 AM Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery for the infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert C. "Bob" Hartshorne.

The baby was born early Saturday in a local hospital but did not live. Her mother is the former Sharon "Rogene" [Hawkins] Hartshorne Hawkins.

Burial will be under the direction of the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with Henninger-Allen as fund custodian.

In addition to her parents, the child is survived by maternal grandparents, Dr and Mrs E. M. Hawkins, Enid, and paternal grandfather, Bob Hartshorne of Enid.
