David Elsworth Hartman
February 11, 1865 ~ May 2, 1952


An 87 year old Garfield County pioneer, David Hartman was found dead in his bed at his home at approximately 3:30 pm Friday as a neighbor stopped by to leave his mail.

Mr Hartman had been suffering from a heart condition.

He was a rural mail carrier in several towns before moving to Covington where he had lived for 26 years.

Mr Hartman was a retired contractor.

Mrs Hartman died in 1928.

He was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs Nell Lee and Mrs W. E. Ingram of Wichita; and two sons Clayton Hartman, Wichita and R. J. Hartman of OKC.

Funeral services are to be conducted Sunday at 2 pm in the Covington Free Methodist Church, the Rev J. O. Ingram officiating.

Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Harry E. Hartman
October 25, 1901 ~ September 2, 1985


Services for Harry E. Hartman, 84, Oklahoma City, will be 2 pm. Friday at the Henninger-Allen Chapel with Rev T. Arnold Davis officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Hartman died Monday at an Alamosa, Colo. hospital. He was born near Breckenridge on October 25, 1901, and graduated from Hunter High School in 1921. He was a 1925 graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

Hartman was married to Irene Copper on May 7, 1935 in Stillwater. Later, the couple moved to Illinois, then to Enid before moving to Oklahoma City. His wife died in 1982.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs Fern Marshall, Napa, Calif., and Mrs Georgia Bird, Albuquerque, NM, and several nieces and nephews.

Friday Rites For Frank F. Hartman

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 pm in Henninger-Allen Funeral Home chapel for Frank F. Hartman, 62, 1817 Pawnee, who died Tuesday is his home following a long period of ill health.

Rev James C. Peppin will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Lester Wright, Doyle Thompson, Wesley Bonnett, James Campbell, Walter Johnson and Freddie Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Emanuel Herbert, William Travis, Julius Evers, Arthur Campbell, Taylor Horton and Charley Campbell.

Born June 16, 1904, in Breckenridge, Hartman lived most of his life in that community. He farmed there until three years ago when he moved to Enid.

Hartman was graduated in 1928 from Oklahoma State University with a B S degree.

He was married in 1943 to the former Mae Beth Crawford at Purcell.

He was a member of the Christian church at Hunter.

Survivors include; the widow Mae Beth of the home; two sisters, Mrs Pat [Georgia] Bird, Albuquerque, NM, Mrs Fern Marshall, Napa, Calif.; a brother, Harry Hartman, Enid; seven nieces and nephews.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home until service time.

Irene E. [Copper] Hartman
January 5, 1911 ~ November 25, 1982


Funeral services for Irene "Renny" Hartman will be 10:00 am, Friday, August 25, 2023 at North Garland Church of Christ with Dr Ron Walcher officiating. Burial will follow on Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Irene was born February 23, 1945 in Cherokee to Rufus and Merel [Decker] Sluder and passed away August 20, 2023.

She lived on a farm until age 13 when the family moved to Byron, Oklahoma.

She was active in sports with many trophies.

She married Dennis Hartman June 1, 1963 and they celebrated 60 years together. They had two children, Keitha Rena and Monty Ray Hartman.

She received her bookkeeping certificate from OT Autry and worked keeping books for different companies.

Her love in life was to teach Bible classes from cradle roll to adults. Even when Dennis was stationed in Germany, she taught a class for the Protestant Women of the Chapel and the youth.

She enjoyed watching her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids play sports. She spent many hours behind a sewing machine altering prom and wedding dresses and making her family's clothes.

She started making quilts after kids were grown following Dennis in the Army. She made quilts for cancer, DHS, Quilts of Valor, Benny's Barns, seniors graduating at church, fire victims, baby showers, friends, and family. She made a quilt for each kindergarten student in her granddaughter's kindergarten class. She also made over 200 masks for the COVID-19 pandemic, and over 200 pillowcases for food pantry and missionaries. 40 pillowcases went to her granddaughter's 1st grade students where her granddaughter teaches.

Renny is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dennis Hartman; children, Keitha Depanion, and husband Jay; grandchildren, Samantha Nelson and husband Dalton, Garrett Hartman, Tyler Hartman, and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Madi and Deacon; sisters, Marlene German, and Patty Sherman.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Monty Hartman, and wife Jill; siblings, Gerald and Tom Sluder, Dorthy Schmitz, Emma Walcher, and Doris Sluder.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.

Mary Beth [Crawford] Hartman
July 1, 1918 ~ September 13, 2013


ENID, Okla. - Funeral for Mae Beth Hartman, 95, of Enid will be 2:30 pm Monday at Garriott Road Church of Christ. Ray Rose will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Mae Beth was born July 1, 1918, in Hooks, TX, to Gaston and Mary Etta Barrow Crawford and passed away at Greenbrier Nursing Home Friday, September 13, 2013.

She moved to Texarkana, TX, after high school to live with family.

While living in Texarkana she met the love of her life, Frank Hartman. They were married in 1943 in Purcell, OK.

The couple then moved to the Hartman family farm near Breckinridge, OK. Mae Beth enjoyed the farm and helping Frank with the farming and feeding cattle.

Frank had asthma and couldn't serve his country so he and Mae Beth went to California during WW II and worked in the Navy shipyard.

Frank passed away in 1967.

Mae Beth was a member of Garriott Road Church of Christ. She was a volunteer at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital for several years, recording 12,376 hours of service.

Mae Beth is survived by her sister Eva Sain of Bolivar, TN; caregivers Doyle and Anita Thompson of Hunter, OK; grandchildren Mark and Kim Thompson, Melissa Thompson; great grandchildren Jett Thompson, Gabe Erickson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mae Beth was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.

Memorials may be given to Garriott Road Church of Christ or OMRF, Heart Division, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Monty Ray Hartman
December 4, 1966 ~ November 1, 2016


A celebration of the life of Monty Ray Hartman is 10 am Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow. Burial follows at 2 pm in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid. Friends may visit the funeral home 9 am - 9:00 pm Friday, November 4, 2016, with family there to receive visitors 6 - 8 pm.

Monty passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the age of 49. Monty was born in Burlington December 4, 1966, to Dennis and Irene Renny [Sluder] Hartman.

Monty graduated from Chisholm High School, Enid, and continued his education at OSU Tech, Okmulgee.

He put his technical skills to use for 20 years as an automotive technician for Buck Myers Motors. The last two years he has been head of renovations for JJG Properties, LLC.

On May 12, 1993, Monty married Jill Douglas in a Tulsa wedding ceremony. Their union was blessed with two children.

Monty was a wonderful husband and father. Monty loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and hanging out in his shop.

Monty was the type that could not sit still, he was always on the move. He could fix or build anything. Monty enjoyed using his skills to help family and friends.

Monty looked forward to helping on the tunnel crew for the Broken Arrow football team.

Monty is survived by his wife, Jill Hartman, Broken Arrow; children, Garrett Ray Hartman and Tyler Ray Hartman; parents, Dennis and Renny Hartman, Enid; sister, Keitha Depanion and husband, Jay, Calera; niece, Samantha Nelson; daughter, Madilyn and husband, Dalton, Durant; many other nieces, nephews and several cousins.

Monty was preceded in death by Rufus and Merel Sluder; Raymond and Dolores Hartman; and best friend Carl Vrska.
