Lieselotte "Lottie" GYNGARD

Lottie (Lieselotte M.) Gyngard, 92, passed away in Enid, Okla., on Monday, July 2, 2012. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Lottie was born May 11, 1920, in Mainz, Germany.

In 1942, she married Franz Roth. They had a son, Rolf W. Roth. Her husband passed away in 1944 from WWII injuries. In 1954, she married Claudie C. Gyngard, an American serviceman, in Ramstein, Germany. They and her son came to the United States in 1955, and settled in Enid. In 1958, Lottie and her son became U.S. citizens. She worked at Coldirons, Newmans and the Vance Exchange.

After 40 years of marriage, her husband passed away in 1994. Her son graduated from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Wisconsin and returned to Germany in 1969

She is survived by her son, his wife and their four children, as well as by two grandchildren from a previous marriage, Thomas Roth and wife Theresa of San Francisco, Calif., and Anne Temple and her daughter Diana of Skaneateles, N.Y., and her older sister, Anneliese Weis of Germany. Her sister, Käte preceded her in death. After her husband passed away, she became a member of Enid Senior Center, where she made many friends, and later in 2005, she moved to The Commons in Enid.
