The funeral service for Bethel Mildred Gray, 92 year-old Enid resident, is 10 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Gary Miller will officiate. Burial follows in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bethel was born October 14, 1925, near Marshall, Oklahoma, to David Harley Cline and Martha May (Blakley) Cline, and died Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in Integris bass Baptist Health Center. She was named for her father's sister, Mildred States, and her mother's sister, Bethel Browning. She was reared on the farm and educated in Roxana Grade School. She graduared from Marshall High School in 1944. Bethel moved to Enid soon after graduation She married Noah V. Allen in 1947. They were parents of a son and daughter. The family made their home in Enid. They were in the automobile business, along with purchasing the Lomgbell Lumber Company, Nash Lumber Yard, Knox Auto Stores, and Rosenfiled Jewelry in Shawnee. After her husband's death, she retained the real estate holdings and continued with the investments and rental property management.

Bethel graduated from Floral School in Denver, Colorado., and was a designer for 52 years. Previous to her designing career, she was a bookkeeper for Silver's Electric and was city clerk of North Enid. She and Richard Gray were married in 1974. They traveled extensively. He died in 1992. Richard and Bethel were the first couple ever to become Kiwanis Club Members. Bethel was a member of Davis Park Christian Church, Enid Chapter No. 36 of Order of the Eastern Star, local AARP, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, life member of Air Force Sergeants Widows, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son, Noah V. Allen Jr; one daughter, Mary Lucile (Allen) Durham; two granddaughters, April Sue Allen and Summer Bethel (Durham) Marrow, one great-grandson, Jacob Dewitt Marrow, one great-granddaughter, Julia, and one special daughter, Claudine Rogers of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, four brothers and four sisters.
