Celebration of Life and Remembrance service for CMSGT (Ret.) Frank Gosnell Jr., 83, of Enid, will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Pastor Ted Kuschel will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Frank was born Nov. 13, 1934, in Enid, Okla., to Frank Sr. and Inez Musser Gosnell and passed away Dec. 1, 2015, in Enid, Okla.

Frank grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1950, where he was captain of the Enid High basketball team. He attended Oklahoma State University and entered the U.S. Army as a 2nd lieutenant. Later, he joined the U.S. Air Force and married Sidney Firestone in Atlanta, Ga. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 32 years until his retirement in 1989 as a chief master sergeant, having assignments in Korea, Germany, Japan, Alaska, Washington, D.C., Louisiana, Texas and Alabama. He retired at Vance Air Force Base earning many awards and medals including the Air Force Commendation Medal.

Frank was then employed as the director for the U.S. Census Bureau in Enid in 1990. He also served in the Employment Security Commission, which facilitates employment for veterans. Frank was a member of First Baptist Church of Enid, where he was baptized at age 7. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a member of the Sojourners Class.

He and his wife, Sidney, enjoyed many years traveling in their motorhome to Monaco rallies throughout the United States and Canada.

Frank is survived by his wife, Sidney; son, Jeff M. Taylor (Alicia) Enid; daughter, Cindy Gosnell, Pearland,Texas; Melissa Taylor, Cincinnati, Ohio; Sally (Bob) Joines; Janice (John) McCollum; Kim (Jeff) Hines of Prattville, Ala.; and Kathy (James) Marten, Grand Prairie, Texas; grandchildren: Lt. Zac (Jenny) Koehler, Daniel Kolhler, K.K., Darby, Natia, Jamie, Christy, Will, Katy, Brandon and Elliott; a sister, Janice Poore (Jim), Friendswood, Texas.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved hunting dog, Rocky, who loved to hunt quail and pheasant.

Memorials may be made to the Enid SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
