Jean was born May 12, 1942, in Muskogee to Granville and Ruth Mason and passed away July 9, 2021, in Enid. She grew up in Claremore. She completed her eighth-grade education as Valedictorian of her class. She then married and had four children. Jean remained a homemaker until her divorce. As a single mother raising four children, she was a service worker, holding multiple jobs including 10 years at Oakwood Country Club, eight years at Great Lakes Aircraft. An opening came up at Vance AFB for a service worker at the NCO Club, which she took till she could obtain a position at the base that would support she and her family. She was determined to bid out and obtain her dream position. To accomplish this, she bought a used typewriter a typing book from Phillips University, worked all day followed by an evening shift and stayed up nights until she could easily pass the required typing test. She did this in two months, whereupon she obtained her position at Vance Air Force Base on the RPC flight line. She held this position for 33 years bringing parts to "her boys" on the flight line. The day she discovered she could retire; she pulled her car over and cried with joy.

Jean was as busy in retirement as any job. She filled her days with her favorite activities: reading books, visiting friends, working in her garden, and multiple DIY projects in her home. First and foremost were her children, grandchildren, and she was available day or night with a phone call.

Jean is survived by her children, Bobby Gordineer of the home, Cindy Hill, Enid, Steve Gordineer, of Tulsa, Tommy Gordineer and his wife Carol, of Sherman, Texas; multiple grandchildren, Tommy Joe "TJ", Freddie John, Brandon, Donnie, Jeffery, Bobby Joe, Matthew Gordineer, Nova Shelton; great grandchildren, Keara Ruthie Jean Shelton, Daniel and Kori Clardy, of Missouri, Sophia Marie, Airic Gordineer, Ethan Lucas, Jeffery Ryan, Isaiah Christian, Aiden Kane and Rylan Gordineer, of Cape Cod, a and Khamilla Jhenkins; cousin, Sharon Maxwell.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Coach Alvin Duke, who was the love of her life; granddaughter, Khera Shelton and great-grandson, Jaxson Jhenkins.
