Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for James Andrew “Jim” Goodrich, 89, of Enid, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Central Christian Church. The Rev. Don Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Monday, May 26, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and also at Central Christian Church Fellowship Hall from noon until service time on Tuesday.

Jim was born May 8, 1926, in Garber, Okla., the son of James and Isabella Brodie Goodrich, and passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, at his residence.

He served in the United States Marine Corps. A World War II veteran, he survived the battles of Guadalcanal, Tarawa and Iwo Jima, where he was wounded in action.

Jim was united in marriage to Peggy Griesel on Oct. 12, 1969, in Pawnee, Okla.

Jim was employed by Champlin Oil Company for more than 37 years.

He was a member of Central Christian Church, where he served as Elder Emeritus; VFW; American Legion; and Marine Corps League; a 60-year member of Garfield Masonic Lodge (501); past president of Enid Shrine Club and, as “Pecos,” a charter member of Enid Shrine Clowns. He also was an honorary Taft Elementary School Tiger.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; daughter, Linda Ridgway (Forrest) of Enid; two granddaughters, Jamie Trent (Trevor) and Shelby Sewell; six great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church, Hospice Circle of Love or donor’s choice, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of funds.
