The funeral for Wendell R. Gipson, 52, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jerry Holt will officiate. The casket will not be opened after the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Wendell was born Sept. 20, 1954 in Archer City, TX to Johnnie L. and M. Pauline (Ashbrook) Gipson and went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 10, 2007.

He came to Enid in 1961 from Wichita Falls, TX and graduated from Enid High School in 1973.

He has been employed 18 years at McCormick Railroad Service/Express Rail as a van driver. He was a member of Liberty Southern Baptist Church. Wendell was baptized at a young age and he loved his Lord.

He is survived by his mother, Pauline of Enid; one brother, James Gipson and his wife Susan of San Antonio, TX, and their children, John David, Alex, Kristina and Robert Gipson; cousins, Sue Russell and Marlene Ashbrook and husband Mike; and aunt Judy Ashbrook of Bridgeport, TX.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1988.
