© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma November 1986 October 29, 1936 ~ November 18, 1986 Services for James "LeRoy" Ging, 50, Enid, will be at 10 AM Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Jim Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Ging died Tuesday in a local hospital. Ging was born west of Carmen on October 29, 1936, to James Henry and Adaline Wells Ging. He attended school in Enid before graduating from Topeka, Kansas, high school and later attending college there. He joined the Army in 1955. He had been self-employed before moving to Enid in 1972 to work for Vance Air Force Base. On February 22, 1979, he married Rosemary Hedrick in Bartlesville. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the AMVETS and was a retired member of the Enid Real Estate Association. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, of the home; three sons, Kim, Kevin and Greg Ging; a daughter, Carrie Ging; a step daughter, Mrs Robert [Debi Lynn] Clothier, Wagoner; three stepsons, Brian Scott Kienzle, Steven Lyle Kienzle and Howard Preston Trenton, all of Enid; his mother, Mary Adaline [Wells] Varner, Enid; his grandmother, Beulah Marie Ging, Enid; a brother, Larry Dean Ging, Hayward, California; two sisters, Jonna Woolis, Pittsburg, Kansas, and Judy Marie Marquis, California; two half brothers, Jeffrey Varner, California, and David Lynn Ging; and four granddaughters. He was preceded in death by twin sons and his father. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, the diabetes and heart division, through the funeral home. |

© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma July 9, 2013 June 1, 1943 ~ July 5, 2013 ENID, Okla. - Funeral service for Billy Joe Ging, 70, will be 10 am Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Ron Olson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be 5:30-7 pm today at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Billy was born to Joe Henry and Eunice [Razey] Ging on June 1, 1943, in Granite, and died Friday, July 5, 2013, at Kaw Lake. Billy grew up in Carmen and Enid, graduating from Enid High School. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. On June 12, 1966, he married Ruthie Kent. They made their home in Enid, where Billy worked at GEFCO, and later owned and operated Bill's Westside Texaco and Bill's 66. He returned to GEFCO in 1993, and retired on May 31, 2013. He enjoyed fising, camping, traveling, and spending time with his family. Billy is survived by his wife, Ruthie of the home; three sons, David Ging and wife Darlene, Todd Ging and wife DeLisa, and Jason Ging, all of Enid; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Lester Ging and wife Freda of Enid; sister, Nina Miles and husband George of Hilton, N.Y.; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne and Glen; and sisters, Clidene Replogle, Yvetta Hays, Barbara Vasquez and Josephine Ging. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma July 10, 2022 November 16, 1947 ~ July 3, 2022 Duane Leon Ging, age 74, of Topeka, KS, passed away after a long illness, on Sunday, July 3, 2022. He was born the son of the late Scott Elwood and Eleanore Iona [Keiffer] Ging on November 16, 1947, in Enid, OK. In his earlier years, Duane enjoyed playing the piano, watching old westerns, and telling jokes. He is survived by his sister, Carol Winters of Texas. Cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, OK, where he will be laid to rest next to his parents. Burial for family will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Ruthie was born January 25, 1948 in Enid to Elmer Lee and Mary Elizabeth [Reid] Kent and passed away January 13, 2025 in Enid. She grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School. On June 12, 1966, Ruthie married Billy Joe Ging, and they made their home in Enid. She worked for several years as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell. Ruthie worked for many years at Garfield County Election Board before her retirement. Ruthie was a longtime member of First Church of the Nazarene before joining Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy; parents; brothers, Bud, Bruce and Lee; sisters, Cap, Joy, Bonnie and Linda. She is survived by three sons and their wives, Todd and DeLisa Ging, David and Darlene Ging and Jason and Darla Ging; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Evie Reim; and other relatives. |
