Funeral service for Bernice Ruth “Ruthy” Lee Larsen Gillespie, 55, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Darryl Scott of Christ’s Church of North Enid will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born Nov. 19, 1958, to Mildred F. Young Lee in Enid and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Enid.

She fought a courageous fight for 31 years to beat breast cancer. She has now been set free from all of her pain and has her wings. She had a laugh that drew you in, a smile that opened doors and a stubbornness that made her special.

She is survived by her husband, John Gillespie; children, Brandon (Tiffany), Gabriel (Vanessa), Miechelle (Eddie), and Andrew (Courtney); grandchildren, Raine, Madelynn, Trentyn, Spencer, Cheyanne, Jonathan and Laura; sisters, Beverly, Patt, Reva, Sandy, and Lilly; brothers, Raymond and Robert; her lovely little dog named Lily Jean; and best friend, Scott Larsen.

She was preceded by her parents and grandparents.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at The Commons, especially Cindy King, Millisa, Mary and Dana Clark. They would also like to thank Hospice Circle of Love, the volunteers, Dr. Dexeus and his staff.

Memorials may be given to Hospice Circle of Love, The Commons or Brown-Cummings Funeral Home, with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
