The funeral service for Carolyn Ann Gilbert will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Enid First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home.

Carolyn was born December 26, 1932 to Conrad and Ione (Alexander) Pruitt and passed away January 31, 2016 in Enid. She was raised in Enid and attended area schools, graduating from Enid High in 1951.

Carolyn married George F. Gilbert on February 3, 1951 in Enid, where the couple made their home. She worked at Champlin’s as a personal secretary, worked at the tag agency in Crescent, owned an in-home daycare, and retired from Enid DHS in 1996. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, singing, crocheting and loved going to church and church functions. Carolyn loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the class of 1951 Golden Girls, Eastern Star and Enid First Church of the Nazarene.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Morgan and husband, Gary of Enid; sons, Jerald Gilbert and wife, Denise of Enid and John Gilbert of Enid; sisters, Connie Mick of Yukon and Barbara Connell of Goose Creek, SC; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; 1 niece and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 great great grandchild and 1 grandnephew.

Memorials may be made to the Enid First Church of the Nazarene with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
