Jet – Lester V. George, 78, died Tuesday at a Cherokee hospital. The graveside service will be 2 PM Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid with the Reverend Tom Webster officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

George was born March 6, 1907, in Ringold, Texas. He was married to Clara Failing on August 18, 1927. The couple lived in several places in Texas and Oklahoma. Jet had been their home for the past nine years. George was a member of the Christian church.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Lee George, Jet, Merl and Verl George, both of Catoosa, and Randy George, Kenai, Alaska; a daughter, Mrs. Malcolm (Lela) Thoma, Jet; 14 grandchildren and 14 great – grandchildren.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Cancer Research with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
