Marshall F. Gearheard

Marshall F. Gearheard, 70, 1925 Live Oaks, died late Saturday afternoon in Tulsa after a period of failing health. The funeral will be at 2 PM Tuesday at Central Christian Church with Dr. Lloyd H. Lambert officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

The casket will be open at the funeral home until 1 PM Tuesday. It will remain closed at the church.

He was born May 4, 1916, in Hillsdale to Howard and Lula Gearheard. He attended schools there and later attended Enid Business College. He then worked for Clinesmith – McCoy Furniture Company. On July 3, 1937, he and Nadine Sharkey were married in Enid. She died in January 1978.

Gearheard had entered the U. S. Army during World War I I and served in the European Theater where he was wounded in action. After his discharge, he returned to Enid and again was employed at Clinesmith – McCoy Furniture Company. He later was co – owner and operator of the store, retiring in July 1986 after nearly 50 years of service with the company.

He was a member of Central Christian Church, the Lions Club, American Legion and the VFW.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry, Dallas, Texas, and Richard, Tulsa; a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Lois) Korn, Tulsa; six grandchildren; a brother, W. W. Gearheard, Wichita, Kansas; and two sisters, Rea Reim, Omaha, Nebraska, and Lorraine Roy, Pryor.

He also was preceded in death by a sister.

Memorials may be made to the church.
