A celebration of the life of Mary E. Garrison, 96, Enid, is 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Central Christian Church with the Rev. John Wheeler and the Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Burial of the cremains follows in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mary was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Edgar and Ethel Hensley Shelton, and passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, in Enid. She graduated from Warren Central High School, and attended Johnson Bible College. She married the Rev. Carlton D. Garrison on Sept. 12, 1940, in Indiana. In their 62 years of marriage, they made their home in the various sites of Carlton's pastorates, including Enid, Ponca City, Oklahoma City, Kingfisher, Kansas, Texas, and Indiana. Mary enjoyed traveling, water skiing, sewing, crocheting, and working on her computer. She was a member of Central Christian Church, and was honored as Mother of The Year, and was active in C.W.F. She was also a long time member of PEO.

She is survived by two sons, James Garrison and wife Deborah of Albuquerque, N.M., John Garrison and wife Amy of Edmond, two daughters, Barbara Garrison and partner Bonnie McLean of Anchorage, Alaska, and Janet Garrison Steffen of Shawnee; nine grandchildren, Kristin Garrison and Dan Vaitkus, Joanne Tippeconnic, David Garrison, Rachel and Ben Nelson, Valerie and Lewie Foltz, Kyle Steffen, Sarah and Jason Majors, Tommy and Allie Garrison, Jacob and Miranda Garrison, and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and two brothers.
