Funeral services for Dortha Marie Burnett Gainey, 83, will be at 2 PM Monday, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church. The Reverend Ken Armstrong will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Dortha was born September 1, 1920 in Enid to Guy and Millie Shields Burnett and passed away Thursday, July 29, 2004.

Dortha graduated from area schools and was a graduate of Enid Business College. On December 31, 1945 she married R. D. Gainey in Wellington, Kansas. The couple made their home in Enid. She worked as a secretary for Bob Barnes Sr. and Jr. in their insurance offices and later Lee Parrish Insurance.

Mrs. Gainey was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Ruth Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and Delta Child Club. She was a past President of National Women's Insurance Association.

Grandma Dot is survived by her son, Philip and his wife, Bonnie of Enid; two grandsons, Patrick and his wife Julie of San Angelo, Texas, and Christopher of Enid.

She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
