Memorial Park Cemetery


Funeral services for Mary Christine Gunning, 93, Enid resident, will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 9, 2023, in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor Jesse Johnson officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Mary was born on April 2, 1930, in Warren, Arkansas, the daughter of Lun Mills and Birdie Lee Armstrong Mills, and passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023, in Enid.

Mary came to Enid in 1950 along with her family. She married Ronald Gunning in 1952. He preceded her in passing in 2007. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran and Trinity Baptist Church. Mary worked at Wedding Photography Paler, later, Mary became a beauty operator having a shop in her residence. Although she had no children, she helped raise several sisters, brothers nieces and nephews.

Mary is survived by loving sisters, Darlene Hillary of Enid, and Barbara Duncan of Enid; brother, LT Mills of Los Angeles, California; many nieces and nephews.
