John Edward GLUSING

Memorial Park Cemetery


January 29, 1939 - June 1, 2022

John Edward Glusing was born in Corpus Christi, TX, on January 29, 1939, to Mary (Young) and Jim Glusing. He passed away at his home in Fort Worth on June 1, 2022.

He attended elementary through high school in Corpus Christi, graduating from Roy Miller High School in 1957. He was an all-state football player at Miller and was later inducted into the Roy Miller Buccaneer Hall of Fame. He attended SMU on a football scholarship and graduated with a business degree in 1961.

John spent an active six-month stint in the Marines after graduation and was in the Reserves for another eighteen months. Most of his working years were spent on the road as a salesman for heavy construction equipment. His work took him all over the country: Jackson, MS; Memphis, TN; Wichita, KS; Tulsa, OK; Portland, OR; and back to Fort Worth, TX. He was living in Fort Worth at the time of his death.

John was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Sheryl.

He is survived by sons, Greg Glusing (Frances) and Eric Glusing; step-daughters, Patti Eleeson (Scott); Katherine Anne Anselmi; step-son, Jeffrey Dunlap; former wives, JoEtta Glusing and Carla Glusing. Also surviving are sister, Joan Rogers (Dr. Tom); niece, Dr. Kelly Showalter (Dr. Buzz); nephew, Dr. Jeffrey Rogers (Dr. Audrey); cousins, Eleanor Wilemon and Dr. Jim Glusing (Trisha); six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; as well as special friend and caretaker Jennifer Roybal; and extended family and many friends.

Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
