Rev. Mary Magdalene GLAZE

Memorial Park Cemetery

The funeral service for Rev. Mary Magdalene Glaze, age 78, of Payson, Arizona, formerly of Enid, will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the Living Word Fellowship, with Rev. Terry Glaze, Rev. Terrell Glaze, and Rev. Cliff Richey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the funeral home

She was born to Walter August and Melinda Irene (Iselhardt) Osburn on March 7, 1931, in Alva, and died Sunday, June 7, 2009, in Enid.

Mary grew up in Northwestern Oklahoma, and graduated from Woodward High School. On January 17, 1950, she married Clarence Glaze. To this union, four children were born. Mary worked for many years at St. Mary's and Bass Hospital as a respiratory therapist. She then was an inner-city missionary in Montgomery, Alabama for three years, and later a house parent at a girl's home in Disney, OK. In 1996, Mary became a missionary to the Tonto Apache Reservation, where she was the director of daycare and an Associate Minister at the Payson Living Word Church.

She is survived by her four children, Rev. Marilyn Murray, Rev. Terry Glaze and wife Cindy, and Rev. Terrell Glaze and wife Beverly, all of Enid, and Michelle Atterson and husband Mark of Clarksville, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Brandon Murray, Bethany, Brieanna, Benjamin and Braden Glaze, Matthew, Michael, and Miracle Atterson; one sister Margie Lee Osburn of Billings; and nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Louise Garvie and Ruth Blumer; one brother Emmanuel Osborn, and son-in-law Lyle Murray.

Today we want to honor our mother, Mary Glaze, who crossed over to glory on a beautiful Sunday morning. She ran her race, she pressed on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called her heavenward in Christ Jesus. Her dedication as a missionary on the Tonto Apache Reservation for the past thirteen years in Payson, Arizona is a testimony to her love for God and for people. Today she is looking upon the beautiful face of Jesus to hear him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

She left behind a beautiful legacy of four children and their spouses in ministry who desire to run with perseverance the race marked out for us. It is our goal to advance the Kingdom of God and see many souls saved, healed and delivered before the Lord's return!
