Frye, 76-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 am Friday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Lyle Buller will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 7 to 10 pm today at the funeral home. She was born February 17, 1930, in Coffeyville, Kan., to William E. Bruce and Myrtle [Baker] Bruce and died Monday, May 8, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. She attended Roosevelt schools in Coffeyville. In April 1946 she married Lee Murray. On April 17, 1948, she married Alvin “Big Al” Frye in Enid. She was a hostess at Oakwood Country Club for 14 years. She also worked in the home of Dr C.R. Roberts for 12 years. In 1989 she was the owner/operator of "Big Al's" Sinker and Lure Shop until her death. She was a Protestant and a member of Family Life Missions. The most significant accomplishment was giving her heart to God, marrying “Big Al” and have her children. Her fondest memories are of her children. She loved making items for her shop, music, singing, playing the keyboard, and doing crosswords. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Ann Cowden and husband Arthur of Gosport, Ind.; George D. Frye and wife Devonne of Enid; Alvin Carroll Frye Jr. and wife Linda of Enid; son-in-law, Richard Streck of Enid; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and her dog Silver. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin, her daughter Carroll Elaine Streck, as well as one sister, Hazel Blagg. Memorials may be made to Family Life Missions Church with Henninger-Allen acting as custodian of the funds. |
