1893 ~ November 9, 1961


Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, November 14, at the Central Christian Church in Fairview for Cherokee S. Floyd. Graveside services with be held at 3 pm in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Fairview Masonic Lodge with burial under the direction f the Ingram Funeral Home in Fairview.

Mr Floyd died early last Thursday morning in Long Beach, California.

He is a member of a Major County Pioneer family.

He is a veteran of World War I, a charter member of the Fairview Rotary Club, King Hagen Post of the Americn Legion and a member of the Masonic Loge for 44 years and the Indian Temple Shrine of Oklahoma City.

Surving him are his wife, son John, 2 grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs Joe Frazier of Enid; Mrs Edna Ludlan of Norman; Mrs J. C. Nicholson of Enid; brother Ralph of Oklahoma City and several nieces.

A funeral service for James William "Curly" Floyd, age 80, of Enid, will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the Abundant Life Temple, with Rev David Robinson, Al Cascioli, and Rev Ron Olson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family be Friday 6:00 to 8:00 PM. at the funeral home.

He was born on March 17, 1926 in Thackerville, Oklahoma, and died Thursday, October 12, 2006 in Enid.

James grew up in Enid and joined the United States Navy; he later graduated from Clinton High School.

James then moved back to Enid and attended the Enid Business College, and worked for Bond Bakery.

On August 25, 1978 in Thomas, Oklahoma he married Wanda Euelene [Gough] Yount Vaughn.

James worked for the Enid State School for 23 years as supply clerk, retiring in 1988.

He loved to travel, sing with "The Barbershoppers" for 20 years, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife Wanda Euelene of the home; a step-son, Randy & his wife LouWana Yount of Piedmont; a stepdaughter, Kathy Damron of Des Moines, Iowa; two grandchildren, Erin Michelle Yount of Dallas, Texas, and Matthew Aaron Yount of Enid; a nephew, Phil Switzer of Houston, Texas; and a niece Jo Karen Gunkel of Eldorado, Oklahoma.

James is preceded in death by his parents, and 3 sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Abundant Life Temple.

John Thomas Floyd

John Thomas Floyd, 89, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away Wednesday evening, April 19, 2017, at Spring View Manor in Conway Springs, Kansas.

He was a retired oil field engineer for Dowell.

John was born April 13, 1928, in Cushing, to Charles Floyd and Goldie [Jones] Floyd.

John served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He married Emma Jean Pettigrew February 5, 1951, in Pauls Valley. She preceded him in death September 7, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma Jean Floyd; and one brother, George Floyd.

Survivors include his son, the Rev Dan Floyd and wife Shari of Wellington, Kan., and daughter, Luana Hanson and husband Anthony of Mascoutah, Ill.; four brothers, Jim, Joe, Jerry and Mike Floyd; grandsons, Anthony Hanson Jr and wife Marcie, Andrew Floyd and wife Colleen, and Zachary Floyd; granddaughters, Nichole Shewmaker and husband Jeff, and Lindsay Bisto and husband Zach; great grandchildren, Jenna Shewmaker, Chandler, Chase, Landon and Nolan Hanson, Mason Currier, and Annie Floyd.

The graveside service is 11 a.m. today, April 22, 2017, at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev John Shellenberger will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in John's name with the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice.

Contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Frank Funeral Home, Wellington, Kansas, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

The funeral service for Emma Jean Floyd, age 75 will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Jim Edmison and Rev Dan Floyd will officiate.

Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be a time of visitation with the family, Friday from 3-5 pm at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Emma was born October 2, 1934 in Pauls Valley, OK to John Thomas and Nora K. [Roady] Pettigrew and died September 7, 2010 in Enid, OK.

She married John Thomas Floyd on February 5, 1951 in Pauls Valley, OK.

She worked for Northrup as a secretary for several years; she worked for Champlin Refinery for several years and was also a bank teller.

Emma was a loving wife, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her husband, John of the home; daughter, Luana Hanson and husband, Anthony of Mascoutah, IL, son, Rev Dan Floyd and wife Shari of Wellington, KS; grandsons, Anthony Hanson, Andrew and Zachary Floyd; granddaughters, Nichole Shewmaker and Lindsay Hanson; great grandchildren, Jenna Shewmaker and Chandler and Chase Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nora Pettigrew and mother and father–in-law, Charles and Goldie Floyd.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be emailed to ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com
