Jewell Dean [Goodwin] Fitzgerald
December 30, 1923 ~ August 31, 2014


A service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Jewell Dean Fitzgerald, 90, of Ponca City, formerly of Enid, will be 10 am Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. Rev Scott Whittenburg and Rev Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jewell was born December 30, 1923, in Butler, Tenn., the oldest child of Glasco and Tillie Goodwin, and died August 31, 2014 in Ponca City, Okla.

She moved to Oklahoma at age 5 and graduated from Garber High School in 1941. She attended Hill's Business University in Oklahoma City. She worked as a secretary for National Youth Administration in Enid during World War II. She also worked for Southwestern Bell and JC Penney. She then worked as a secretary for Enid Public Schools at Coolidge and Wilson for 20 years.

She was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi Delta Chapter, Red Bud Garden Club, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Saint Paul's Visiting Circle, Abraham Prayer Ministry and Enid Senior Citizens.

She married Delson Fitzgerald November 1, 1950. He preceded her in death October 28, 1993.

She is survived by her children, Steve and LeAwna Fitzgerald, Ponca City; Susan and Ron Ivey, Edmond; Stan and Cheryl Fitzgerald, Edmond; three grandsons, Ron Ivey Jr and wife, Kathryn of Washington, D.C., Jimmy Ivey of Edmond and Joe Fitzgerald of Ponca City. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Bob and Karen Goodwin of Enid, sister-in-law Ruth Goodwin of Benbrook, Texas, and special friend Arnold Schweer as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother Bill Goodwin.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, 1626 E. Broadway, Enid, OK 73701, or Marland Children's Home, formerly the American Legion Children's Home, 1300 Summers Place, Ponca City. OK 74604.

ENID, Okla. — Sharon A. Fitzgerald, 66, left this life to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in Wichita, Kan. Sharon was born Decembrer 12, 1946, to Olon and Lucinda Gaddis.

She graduated from Enid High School in 1965.

Sharon always had a smile and a very strong faith that she shared with everyone she encountered. She spent her life helping others, including the littlest residents at the Wichita Children's Home, where she worked in the infant department.

At the time of her passing she was living in Cheney, Kansas, and volunteering for a local Hospice organization.

She shared her home with her longtime companion, Samantha, her dog, whom she loved dearly.

She also had a very close friendship with her cousin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary.

She is survived and will be missed by her brothers and their wives and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 pm Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Garden Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, Okla., coordinated by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
