© Anderson~Burris Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma July 2016 June 11, 1934 ~ July 25, 2016 Ray Dean Feightner was born June 11, 1934 to Floyd Edward and Edna Armstrong Feightner in Ranger, Texas. He graduated from Pauls Valley High School in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma in 1951. Ray married Mary Magdalene Norman on September 16, 1955. Ray joined the US Navy in 1951 and served 20 years. During the service to his country he received the Korean Campaign Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal [2nd award, Code of Conduct - [5th Award], Maestros Achievement Medals. He proudly served aboard the USS McDermitt and USS Affray. Ray became a 32nd degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner of the ADKAR Temple. After retiring from the Navy, Ray worked as the Electrical Supervisor for Champlin Refinery from 1971 until 1981. He worked several years at Vance AFB as the Electrical Supervisor, Siemens Energy as the Field Service Representative, and State of Oklahoma, as Maintenance Superintendent II for Northern Oklahoma Resource Center. Surviving are his immediate family: wife Mary, son Ray Dean Feightner Jr and and his wife Kim and their two children Zachary Lynn and Kylie Nichole; son Mark Edward Feightner and his wife Diane and their son Mason Riley and twin daughters Madison Rae and Morgan Elizabeth. Also surviving is a sister, Nona Faye Crook of Lawton, Oklahoma, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; grandson Shawn Michael Feightner; brother Edward Eugene Feightner; and sister Jane Williams. The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 1, 2016 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Rev Dr Jarrett Banks will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. |

© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma April 13, 2017 The funeral for Mary Magdalene [Norman] Feightner of Enid, is 3 pm Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Central Christian Church, with the Rev Dr Jarrett Banks and the Rev Shannon Speidel officiating. Burial follows in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family is 6:30-7:30 Friday evening, April 14, 2017, at the funeral home. She was born September 9, 1935, to Vica Buren "Choc" and Mae Elizabeth [Whitehead] Norman in Foster, and passed away April 11, 2017. Mary graduated from Pauls Valley High School in Pauls Valley in 1953. She married Ray Dean Feightner Sr on September 16, 1955 in Pauls Valley. She worked for the Beneficial Finance Company for eleven years in Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Oklahoma. She worked for several banks in Enid before she retired in 1997. She was also a substitute for the Enid Public School System. She was on the board of directors and served as secretary and chapter vice president of membership to the Enid Chapter #214 Air Force Association and the Oklahoma AFA Vice President of membership for the AFA Board of Directors. She served as the secretary/treasurer for the Northwest Oklahoma Bankers Association. She served on Executive, Educational, Enlisted Appreciation and Military Affairs Committees for the Chamber of Commerce. She is a past director and secretary for the Autry Tech Foundation; president of Cherokee Strip Association of Bank Women; member of Ruth Chapter of Eastern Star; Leadership Greater Enid Class IV; American Business Women Association; United Way; American Cancer Society; YWCA; March of Dimes; and YMCA. She received awards from The Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce as ambassador of the year [1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994 & 2012]. March of Dimes Woman of the Year in Community Service in 1998; March of Dimes Salute to Women of Achievement award in business in 1991; Bank of Oklahoma Branch Manager award; coordinator for class sponsors for new pilot classes arriving at Vance Air Force Base from 1979-2013; Air Force Association Community Person of the year 2001; AFA Exceptional Service award in 2002, 03, 04, 05, 06 and 10. The AFA Storz Memorial Membership award for the United States in 2004, AFA Presidential Citation in 2007 and Vance AFB Partner in the Sky in 2010. Surviving are her two sons Ray Dean Feightner Jr and Mark Edward Feightner. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, V.B (Choc) & Mae Elizabeth Norman, a grandson Shawn Michael Feightner, a brother, Keith Norman, and several nieces and nephews.
