© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma October 19, 1983 November 1, 1899 ~ October 19, 1983 Services for Mrs Emil [Katherine] Evers, 83, who died late Wednesday evening in her home after a lengthy illness, will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Garber. The Rev Duane M. Duley will officiate at the rites. Mrs Evers will be buried in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Mrs Evers was born in Schwab, Russia, November 1, 1899, and came to the United States in 1907, and family settled near Lahoma. She attended parochial school at Lahoma and later moved with her parents to Breckinridge. She married Emil Theodore Evers December 14, 1919, in Breckinridge. They lived on a farm near Garber until retiring in 1974, when they moved to Enid. Mrs Evers was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Garber. Her husband died December 9, 1976. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs Harry E. [Lorlene] Patterson, Oklahoma City, Mrs George [Dorothy] Masterson, Houston, Texas, and Mrs Harold [Berneice] Karner, Fort Worth, Texas; four sons, George Evers, Norman, Lloyd Evers, Irving, Texas, Harold Evers and Paul Evers, Enid; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; a sister, Mrs Lloyd [Mary] Gibson of Enid and a brother, Henry Schneider of Fairmont. Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, either directly or through the funeral home. |
© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma January 13, 1985 May 10, 1902 ~ January 13, 1985 The funeral for Ethel Maude Evers, 82, 811 N. 18th, will be at 2 PM Thursday in Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Dr William Be Oden, senior minister of First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs Evers died Sunday in a local hospital after a short illness. She was born May 10, 1902, in Sac City, Iowa, to Henry L. and Adeline Peyton. In 1908, the family moved to Kennebec, South Dakota, where she lived on a farm and attended schools in that area. After graduation, she worked in Kennebec as a telephone operator. She later worked at the Post Office. On November 27, 1924, she and Cecil Floyd Evers were married at Kennebec. He died September 27, 1984. Mrs Evers was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Presho, South Dakota. Survivors include two sons, Clifford L. Evers, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Robert L. Evers, Sturgis, South Dakota; one daughter, Mrs James (Lorraine) Kvasnicka, Enid; nine grandchildren; and 16 great – grandchildren. Besides her husband, Cecil, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a twin sister. |

Rev Steve Meier will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Verda was born May 1, 1919 in Centrahoma, OK, the daughter of Sim M. and Iva D. Brown Jones and died December 10, 2011. She was united in marriage to Harold L. Evers, August 14, 1959 in Enid, OK. Mrs Evers enjoyed going to garage sales, collecting antiques, painting by water color, quilting, and bird watching. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Harold of the home, three grandchildren: Ed Chrisman and wife Conny of Tonganoxie, KS, Ron Chrisman of Tonganoxie, KS, Karen Carney and husband Mike of Kansas City, MO; two great grandchildren, Daniel Chrisman of Tonganoxie, KS and Misty Chrisman of Tonganoxie, KS; sister-in-law, Lorlene Patterson of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law Dorothy Masterson of Houston, TX; brother-in-law Lloyd Evers of Honolulu, HI; sister-in-law, Berneice Karner and husband, Harold of Fort Worth, TX; brother-in-law, Paul Evers and wife Sherry of Broken Arrow, OK and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ottis Jones, one sister, Orene Tanner; one daughter, Beverly Chrisman and son-in-law, Paul Chrisman and one great grandson, William Chrisman. "Sarge" Evers, age 93, of Enid, will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 25, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church of Lahoma, Oklahoma, with Pastor Randy Foote officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. Harold was born September 29, 1931, in Garber, Oklahoma to Emil and Katherine [Schmunk] Evers, and passed away Friday, November 15, 2024 at The Commons in Enid. He was baptized and confirmed in the Garber Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Verda Brannon August 14, 1959 in Enid, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Hackney Iron & Steel for over 40 years before retiring in 1997. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, wife Verda, daughter Beverly Chrisman and son-in-law Paul Chrisman, three sisters and their husbands, Lorlene and Harry Patterson, Dorothy and George Masterson, Berneice and Harold Karner; two brothers George Evers and his wife Mary, and Lloyd Evers. A great-grandson, William Chrisman, niece Alison Evers, and two nephews, Harry Patterson Jr and Todd Evers also predecease him. He is survived by two grandsons, Edward Chrisman and wife Conny, Ronnie Chrisman; granddaughter, Karen Carney and husband Mike, two great grandchildren, Daniel Chrisman and Misty Chrisman, two great great grandchildren, Jade and Gabriella, and brother Paul Evers and wife Sherry, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Harold was loved dearly, and will be greatly missed by us all. We take great comfort in knowing he will be with his Lord and Savior and reunited with many family and friends. Evers 77, of Enid will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Rev Thomas House will officiate the service. Burial will in the Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Ladusau-Evans funeral chapel. Rose was born on September 28, 1935 near Breckenridge, OK in the family's home the daughter of Frank and Rosie [Petr] Maly. She graduated from Garber High School in May of 1953. Rose went to work at Long Bell Lumber Company of Enid and was a administrative secretary in June of 1953. On April 19, 1958 she married Donald F. Evers at Trinity Methodist Church in Enid. She worked at Long Bell until August of 1961. In November of 1977 Rose went back to work as church secretary for Redeemer Lutheran Church. In August 1999 Rose retired to spend time with her husband Don of 42 years. Don died in September of 2000. Rose was involved in Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Mary Martha Society, Lutheran Layman's League, Aid Association for Lutherans, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and served Home Extension Groups. Rose was preceded in death by her Parents Frank and Rosie Maly, Husband Donald and a sister Mary Jean Coats. Rose is Survived by her Daughters: Kimberly and Husband James of Enid, Brenda Andrew and a son John Evers of Enid. Grandchildren: Jennifer and Matthew Stowers, Jae Stephanie Bowlin, and Johnathan Bowlin, Tricity and Parker Andrew and Step Grandsons: Jeremy and Cody Bowlin; Step Great Grandson Zachary Bowlin and one great Granddaughter: Alice Rose Stowers: Two Sisters: Betty Harms and Judy Hays. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma August 17, 2017 October 7, 1969 ~ August 15, 2017 August 15, 2017 brought to a close 47 years of a life well lived for Todd Alan Evers. He was born October 7, 1969, in Enid, Oklahoma to Judy Lynn [Dyer] and Paul Edward Evers. Following graduation from Enid High School, Todd spent some time at the University of Central Oklahoma before enlisting in the United States Air Force. In 1998, Todd joined the fire department at Tinker Air Force Base where he found his life's true calling. Todd was the true definition of complete commitment and devotion to his passion for being a fire fighter. He was a founding member of the Mid America Fools [Fraternal Order of Leatherhead Society] and Todd was also an instructor at EOC for 10 years. He was the Air Force Materiel Command Fire Fighter of the Year in 2010 as well as the Oklahoma Big Brother of the Year. When Todd wasn't at the fire department, he could be found playing a round of golf, shooting clay pigeons and targets, playing video games and watching movies. Todd loved to grill and recently got a smoker which he made great use of. He was a big fan of music, especially Willie Nelson! Todd loved life; he loved his family, and the brotherhood of the fire department. Todd was preceded in death by his mother, Judy [Dyer] Evers; and a baby brother, Matthew. He will be greatly missed by his greatest joy, his daughter, Audrey Evers of the home; his beautiful fiancée, Lindsey Kiser of the home; proud parents, Paul and Sherry Evers of Broken Arrow; favorite siblings, Kenny Cribley of Enid, Brandi Crawford of McKinney, Texas, and Shana Lamar of Trophy Club, Texas; loving grandmothers, Wilma Ashley of Oklahoma City and Coleen Mauk of Tulsa; aunts and uncles, Harold Evers of Enid, Lloyd Evers of Honolulu, Hawaii, Theresa and Bob Humphries of Tuttle, Kenny Dyer of Oklahoma City, Jeff Dyer of Texas, Harold Karner of Texas, and Janet Mack of Carmel, Ind., Dan Mauk and wife Karen of Colorado, Diane Johnston and husband Buck of Enid, Marsha Whitaker and husband Roger of Tulsa, WC Ashley and wife Barbara of Texas; Lindsey's parents, Curtis and Peggy Kiser; his entire fire fighter family; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
