© Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma August 2018 December 1, 1943 ~ August 7, 2018 The services celebrating and honoring the life of Fred "Dea" Entriken, 74, of Enid will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday August 14, 2018 in the First Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Andrew Long officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. He was born December 1, 1943 to Dr Fred D. and Virginia Sue Entriken in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life on August 8, 2018 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was raised and educated in Enid attending McKinley Elementary, Emerson Jr High, and graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1961. He received a degree in accounting at Phillips University. He then moved to Dallas and lived there between 1970 and 1997, achieving a life grand master status in Chess, while an instructor and tournament player. Dea moved back to Enid in 1998 and married Nancy Emmons on January 23, 1999. Dea was a true and loyal friend, and extremely sweet, caring, and generous man, and the very best husband ever, and is missed beyond belief. Dea was extremely knowledgeable of all things political, with the news channel on 24/7, loudly taking part of the debates, he enjoyed greatly his tapings of Seinfeld and Monk. He Loved the game of golf, both watching on TV or playing with his two best friends, Warren and Jay. He is survived by his wife Nancy and his buddies Minnie and Mickey, of the home, her daughters, Ame [Scott] Fulmer and their children Thomas and Liberty, of Enid; and Amber [Andrew] Krizmar and their daughter Megan, of Tampa, Florida; two sisters, Sallie Asplurd, of Enid, and Susan [Robert] Renz and their daughter Laura of, Spokane, Washington; his mother-in-law, Adele Emmons, of Enid, and sister-in-law Gayle [Ron] Franklin, of Enid. Memorials may be given in his name to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. © Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma 2006 1916 ~ 2006 A graveside service for Virginia Sue Entriken, 89-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 am Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be 11 am Saturday, May 20, 2006, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev Matthew D. Henderson officiating. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Virginia Sue Entriken was born in Billings, Okla., on November 2, 1916, the daughter of Harry and Kate Herman. Her mother died in 1918, and she and her brother were raised by their father and beloved grandmother, Edith Tapp. The family moved to Enid when she was a teenager, and she graduated from Enid High School in 1934. She graduated from Enid Business College and worked for Eason Oil Co., located in the Bass Building. Her future husband, Fred Entriken, who also had an office in the Bass Building, offered her a ride home during a dust storm. They began their courtship and were married May 8, 1940. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, and friend who always put others before herself. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, past president of Chapter DO, PEO, and a member of the “Thursday Club” [which began as a sewing club in the late 1930s]. This group of ladies took many fun trips together and until a few years ago had lunch together once a week. Virginia Sue loved reading, listening to music, playing bridge, cooking and writing poetry and short stories for family and friends. She loved this country and was very patriotic. She had a great sense of humor and never took herself too seriously. Virginia Sue is survived by her children and their spouses: Susan and Robert Renz of Spokane, Wash.; Fred Dea and Nancy Entriken and Sallie and George Asplund of Enid, Okla.; one granddaughter, Laura Virginia Renz of Spokane, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1994, a brother, J.H. Herman in 1994, and a grandson, Thomas Lee Renz in 1965. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Ross Hospice with Henninger-Allen acting as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be made online at www.enidwecare.com |
