ENID — Funeral service for Ferd Eilrich, 82, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Christopher Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson - Burris Funeral Home.

Ferd was born to Frederick E. and Wilhelmina Marie (Bohl) Eilrich on July 11, 1928, in Ellsworth, Kan., and on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, his heavenly Father took him home, where there would be no more diabetes, heart disease, or dementia.

Ferd attended school at Ellsworth, Kan., and served in the Navy.

On Nov. 7, 1958, he married Mary Elizabeth McConnell in Ellsworth. He worked as a farmer, livestock buyer for Rodeo Meats, livestock auctioneer and worked at George E. Failings.

Ferd has been a member of American Legion Post 174 in Ellsworth, Kan., since 1951 and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Julius and Ador; and a sister, Wilhelmina Donley.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Fred of Stillwater, Okla., and Brad and Sharon of Paris, Texas; three grandchildren, Travis, Cody and Bailey; two brothers, Raymond of McPherson, Kan., and Louis and Peggy of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Leona Eilrich and Marie Woodmansee, both of Ellsworth, Kan., and Nita and Keith Briscoe of Lincoln, Kan.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Redeemer Lutheran Church or OMRF, Alzheimer's division.
