Funeral services for Sophie Eggers, age 97, of Fairmont will be 2 p.m. today in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enid. The Rev. Paul Hass will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born September 6, 1908 in Enid to Albert and Lena Hildebrandt Blocker and died September 22, 2005 at Greenbrier Nursing Home.

She attended Enid Public Schools. She was baptized on October 11, 1908 at Zion Lutheran Church of Fairmont and was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enid on June 8, 1924 where she was a member until her death. On May 10, 1930 she married Alfred Eggers in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They were married more than 70 years.

Sophie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rene and Becky Eggers of Covington; four grandchildren, Mrs. Mac (Mona)Hein, Wenatchee, WA; Mrs. Bruce (Geri) Ayers, Enid, Mrs. Ross (Jodi) Cline, Blackwell, and Dana Eggers Morris, Enid; two step-grandchildren, Mrs. Mike (Brandi) Keen, Fort Polk, LA, and Heath Roberts, Van Buren, AR; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Tanner, and Conner Cline, Blackwell; Adam Long, Stillwater; Sara and Joel Hein, Wenatchee, WA and two step great-grandchildren, Zoe and Zachary Keen, Fort Polk, LA.

Memorials may be made through Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Hospice Circle of Love. Condolences may be sent to the family at ladusauevans.com.
