GUSTENA F. ECK
A funeral service for Gustena F. Eck, age 93, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2005, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Garvie Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, OK. with arrangements by Anderson Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
She was born to Dave and Susie "Becker" Penner on February 5, 1912, in Goltry, OK. and died on Sunday, November 13, 2005, in Enid, OK

She grew up in Goltry, attending schools there. On September 20, 1931, she married Roy Eck in Goltry, and they made their home in Goltry. She was a good Christian woman and a homemaker. She raised five sons, a daughter, and two granddaughters. Gustena loved to cook and baked the best cherry pies in the world. She loved her garden and always had a vegetable garden and lots of flowers. She loved her red geraniums on her front porch. Gustena worked at Bass Baptist Hospital for several years as a cook and everyone called her Tena. She was a hard worker and was always taking care of everyone at family dinners and herself last. She was a member of the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church.
She is survived by five sons, Eugene Eck and wife Anesha of Enid, OK., Edwin Eck and wife Shirley of Enid, OK., Richard Eck and wife Myrna of Enid, OK., Eldon Eck and wife Lavon of Enid, OK., and David Eck and wife Kathy of Enid, OK.; one daughter Linda Neufeld and husband Victor of Abbotsford, British Columbia Canada; one sister Nora Smith of Helena, OK.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; and one infant son.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Enid Mennonite Brethren Church Endowment Fund. (Paid Obit 11-16-1)
