The funeral service for Effie R. Eck, age 85 of Enid will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Effie was born May 19, 1930 to Ed and Cora (Shrader) Haley in Ringwood, OK and passed away April 15, 2016.

She graduated from Ringwood High School. On July 30, 1950 she married Lindy Eck and the couple enjoyed sixty-eight years of marriage. They have three children, Linda Shanklin, deceased; Brenda Eck; Kevin and his wife, Sonja Eck all of Enid. Effie was blessed with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Enid.

After retiring from work as a medical-aide for 20 years from NORCE, she continued working privately as a care provider for twelve more years. Effie loved her family, and her special pet, Tommy. She especially enjoyed watching birds that lived in the beautiful purple martin bird house that her loving husband, Lindy made her.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or The Cat Clinic of Enid with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
