Dorothy N. [Kappel] Duckworth
1928 ~ 1998


Graveside services for Dorothy Naomi Duckworth, age 68, of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Enid, will be 1:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 1998, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, with Rev Bill Bushnell officiating. Services are under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, Enid.

Dorothy was born April 25, 1929 in Thomas, Oklahoma and passed away Monday, January 19, 1998, in Corpus Christi. Dorothy was a member of the Maco Class at the First Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, volunteer at Driscoll Children's Hospital Auxiliary in Corpus Christi. She also previously served as executive director of the Corpus Christi Heart Association.

Survivors include her husband, Burford Duckworth of Corpus Christi; son, Larry G. [Tammye] Duckworth, three grandsons, Shane, Trevor, Trent Duckworth; two sisters, Jo Grace Pilant, and Patricia Cook, and daughter-in-law, Cindy Duckworth, all of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her son, B. Kent Duckworth.

Memorials may be made through the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to the Driscoll Children's Hospital or to the First Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Thursday at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Burford Kent Duckworth, 45, of Edmond, died October 1, 1997 at Edmond, OK. He was born on August 1, 1952 in Enid, OK.

Kent was the Senior Vice President and Manager of the Trust CO of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City.

He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor Science in marketing and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.

Kent went on to earn a Chartered Life Underwriter designation.

He graduated with honors from both the National Trust School of American Bankers Association and The Cannon Financial Institute.

Kent had served as President of The Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors, also Vice President of the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America of which he was a member of The Order of The Arrow and was also an Eagle Scout.

Kent was a member of the Board of Deacons of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, currently a member of First Presbyterian Church of Edmond. He was also very active in numerous civic and charitable organizations.

He is survived by his wife; Cindy and two sons; Trevor and Trent of Edmond, OK. His parents; Buford and Dorothy Duckworth of Corpus Christi, TX. A brother; Larry and nephew Shane of OKC, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

The family extends its gratitude to the Physicians, Nurses and Staff of Edmond Hospital for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Ronald McDonald House, OKC, OK or to the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, OK.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, OK with Memorial Services 2:00 pm, Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Edmond, OK.
