Ivan Wesley Dowers
December 9, 1927 ~ June 20, 2000


Funeral services for Ivan Wesley Dowers, 94, of Enid, will be Thursday, August 30, 2012, 2:30 PM at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Mr Gene Long and Mr Steve Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 8 PM. Mr Dowers passed away Aug. 26 at St Mary's Medical Center.

Ivan was born January 4, 1918 in Enid, OK the son of George and Saloma Sweger Dowers.

He was a veteran of The United States Army-Air Corp serving during WW II. He served in the 434th Squadron of the 12th Bomb Group also known as the Earthquakers and received 7 campaign ribbons for this service.

Ivan was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Reddick April 8, 1967 in Enid, OK.

He was employed by John Deere from 1947 until his retirement in 2011. He was a founding member of the Oklahoma John Deer Tractor Club.

He enjoyed spending time in his garden.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of the home, three daughters, Amy Denise Turner and her husband Richard of Medford, OK, Patti Laine Reidhead and her husband Joe of Springerville, AZ and Vicki Lynn Seward and her husband Larry of Tulsa, OK, two sons, Keith Dowers and his wife Debbie of Beggs, OK and Bruce Eldred and his wife Rebecca of Fairview, nine grandchildren, Britton, Ryan, Brandon, Chad, Spencer, Kari, Kacee, Nicholas and Laurel and two great grandchildren, a brother, Wayne Dowers of Rose Hill, KS, two sisters, Lucille Riffel of Viola, KS and Avanell Long of Enid, OK.

He was preceded in death by parents, a son, Ivan Wesley Dowers Jr and a brother, Marion Dowers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the fund.

Willa Dean [Jennings] Dowers
November 5, 1930 ~ May 14, 2014


Funeral services for Willa Dean Dowers, age 83, of Enid, will be at 10:00am Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, with David Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Willa Dean Jennings was born November 5, 1930 in Scammon, Kansas to Raymond and Hannah Hodgson Jennings and died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at St Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Her parents moved to Chicago, Illinois shortly after her birth.

She attended school in Chicago and graduated from Murray F. Tuley High School in 1948.

In 1950 she moved to Oklahoma with her mother and stepfather, Joe Lewandowski.

On September 10, 1951 she married Carl Marion Dowers. To this union five children were born; Randy, Todd, Patricia, Timothy and Lori.

Willa graduated from Autry Technology Center as a certified nurse's aide in 1972. She was employed at St Mary's Hospital for 24 years. A job she was passionate about.

Willa was also a member of the Enid Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was active in the church including being a Deaconess, while her health allowed.

Willa enjoyed traveling, shopping, and baking her famous pumpkin bread and brownies.

Willa loved her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Willa is survived by her three sons Randy of Arling, Texas; a special son Todd of the home, Timothy and his wife Jo Lynn, daughter Lori Dowers of Enid, and son-in-law Craig Stokes. She has seven grandchildren: Jeramie and Ben Dowers, Sarah Rivera, Melissa and Christopher Stokes, Cory and Andrew Dowers. She also has nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Hannah Jennings and stepfather, Joe Lewandowski; her beloved husband of 49 years, Carl Marion Dowers; brother Raymond Jennings; sister Margaret Ann; and her lovely daughter Patricia Stokes.

Memorial contributions may be made to Anderson-Burris Funeral Home for Willa to go towards the care of her loving son, Todd Dowers.

Shirley Ann [Reddick] Dowers
September 24, 1933 ~ March 10, 2013


Funeral service for Shirley Ann Reddick Eldred Dowers will be 2 pm Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Mr Gene Long will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Shirley was born September 24, 1932, in Enid, Okla., the daughter of Fred E. and Vila Porter Reddick and passed away Friday, March 8, 2013.

Shirley was united in marriage to Merle Eldred June 18, 1950, and to this union three children were born.

She married Ivan Dowers April 8, 1967, in Enid, and to this union he brought one son, and then they were blessed with one daughter. Ivan preceded her in death August 26, 2012.

Shirley was employed as district manager for Avon. She was a member of the Fairview Mothers Club, and served as state president of the Oklahoma Association of Mothers Clubs in 2002.

Survivors include three daughters, Patti Laine Reidhead and husband Joe of Springerville, Ariz., Vicki Lynn Seward and husband Larry of Tulsa, Okla., and Amy Denise Turner and husband Richard of Medford, Okla.; two sons, Bruce Wayne Eldred and wife Rebecca of Fairview, and Keith Dowers and wife Debbie of Beggs, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Britton, Ryan, Brandon, Chad, Spencer, Kari, Kacee, Nicholas and Laurel; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gregory Reddick and wife Dee Ann, and their son Jason of Tuscon, Ariz.

Wilma Jean [Harman] Dowers
February 25, 1934 ~ November 18, 2019


The Graveside service celebrating and honoring the life of Wilma Jean Dowers, 85, of Edmond, formerly of Enid will be held at 2:00 PM November 21, 2019 in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ron Olson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born February 25, 1934 to Everett and Alma Edmundson Harman in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life on November 18, 2019 in Edmond, Oklahoma.

She attended elementary school in Los Angeles, California. She then moved back to Enid, Oklahoma with her family where she attended Longfellow Junior High and Enid High School.

She married Marvin John Dowers on April 14, 1962 in Enid, Oklahoma.

She spent four years at Northwestern Christian College in Eugene, Oregon and then graduated from Phillip's University with her Master's in Education. She also attended one year of Graduate Seminary at Phillip's.

She worked as an elementary school teacher, serving in Los Angeles, California, Hillsdale, Oklahoma, and Enid, Oklahoma where she taught sixth grade at Taft Elementary for thirty-two years.

She was a member of E.E.A., O.E.A., N.E.A., and a former member of Oakwood Christian Church where she taught Sunday School. Most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by her son Gary Dowers, and wife Grace, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, granddaughter, Briana Dowers, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and grandson Ezra Marvin Dowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin John Dowers and son, Kenneth Dowers.

Bobby Gene "Bob" Dowers
August 16, 1936 ~ July 20, 2000


A Mass of Christian burial for Bobbie Gene Dowers, 10 am Thursday in Saint Gregory's the Great Catholic Church. The Rev Larry Kowalski will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

He was born August 16, 1936, in Enid, to Alfred and Mildred Stoner Dowers and died Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

He attended and graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1954. He attended Northwestern College at Alva graduating in 1958.

He enlisted in the Army and served three years in Germany.

He married Margaret Marie Wheeler June 29, 1963, in Enid.

He was a store manager for Woolworth's in various stores across the Southwest. He worked for TG&Y; and was a buyer for Atwood's, where he retired.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret, of the home; one son, Rob Dowers of Flagstaff; one daughter, Angie Dowers Hines, of Enid; his mother, Mildred Dowers Stoner Matussak of Enid; two sisters, Connie Allen of Arlington, Texas, and Pat Dowers of Moore; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Cancer Division, Heart Division, Psoriasis Division, or Our Daily Bread.

Todd Leslie Dowers
March 27, 1956 ~ February 19, 2022


Funeral Services for Todd Dowers will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2022, at Enid Seventh-day Adventist Church, with David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Todd was born March 27, 1956, in Enid to Carl Marion and Willa Dean [Jennings] Dowers, and passed away February 19, 2022.

Todd attended school in Enid at the Opportunity School from early childhood through his young adult years, where his favorite activity was bowling.

Todd also participated in the Special Olympics in the running events. Todd enjoyed helping on the farm, feeding the cows and bringing in wheat harvest.

Todd was a member of the Enid Seventh-day Adventist Church where he loved to sing and socialize with the other members of the Church.

Todd never met a stranger, and you had not been officially greeted until you had a hearty handshake. His favorite conversations were about his sports teams the Dallas Cowboys, OU and the Thunder, but his opening line was always "did you bring my pop cans."

Todd enjoyed traveling, especially his trips to Branson. Todd loved to go out for dinner but somehow always left his wallet at home. Above all, Todd loved spending time with his family. He had a great memory about past fun times with the family and even remembered the funny things you wished he would forget.

Todd is survived by his brothers, Tim Dowers and wife Jo Lynn, Randy Dowers; sister, Lori Dowers; brother-in-law, Craig Stokes; nieces and nephews, Melissa Stokes, Christopher Stokes, Cory and wife Christine Dowers and Andrew Dowers, Jeramie Dowers and Ben Dowers, Sarah Rivera; and several great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Stokes.

Memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
