Enid, Oklahoma August 2010 November 26, 1936 ~ August 9, 2010 A Memorial Service for Murel Jean Denny, 73, will be at 11:00 AM Friday, August 13, 2010, at Central Christian Church, with Rev John McLemore officiating. Murel was born to Merle Leonard and Juanita [Sheridan] Weiss on November 26, 1936, in Wichita, KS, and died Monday, August 9, 2010, in Enid. Murel grew up in Wichita, and then attended Kansas State and Iowa Wesleyan. On August 5, 1955, she married Paul C. Denny Jr in Wichita, where they made their home. After moving to Enid in 1967, she worked at St Mary's and Phillips University. They moved to Monticello, Arkansas in 1995, where Murel worked for the University of Arkansas before moving back to Enid in 1999. Murel was a member of Central Christian Church, where she participated in choir and bell choir. She was also a member of Lions Club, American Legion, and active in Girl Scouts. She is survived by husband Paul; three children, Cheryl [Rodney] Batchelder, Paula [Douglas] DeWolf, and Dale [Jamie] Denny, all of Enid; four grandchildren, Ryan Batchelder of Colorado, Jamie [Rickey] Castle, Kayla Denny and Corey Denny, all of Enid; and nephew Terry [Jeanette] Unruh of Wichita. Murel was preceded in death by parents, sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Harvey Unruh. |
