© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma November 4, 2015 June 30, 1933 ~ October 31, 2015 Robert Eugene DeBoard of Allen, Texas, went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2015, at the age of 82. He was born June 30, 1933, to Jesse Paul and Sadie Johanna [Weber] DeBoard in Covington. Robert graduated from Covington High School in 1951 and Enid Business College with a business administration degree in 1952. Robert married Evelyn Johnson on August 22, 1953, at the Christian Church in Hunter. They were blessed with three children, nine grandchildren and two great grandsons. Robert proudly served his country in the US Army from 1953 to 1955, serving in Fort Smith, Ark., Indianapolis and Munich, Germany. After three years of night school at Phillips University, he attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1962 with a BS degree in accounting. Robert sat for his CPA exam and passed it on the first attempt. He worked for Arthur Anderson Company, Gulf Oil Company and Chevron Oil Company in Tulsa, Atlanta and Houston, retiring in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Allen, Texas, and the BFG Impact Class. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn DeBoard; children, Brent Eugene DeBoard of Dalton, Ga., Jana Van Vorhis and her husband Doug of Plano, Texas, Amy Sutton and her husband Craig of Parker, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan and Kristin DeBoard, Christopher DeBoard, Zack Sutton, Austin Sutton, Lindsey Sutton, Emory Van Vorhis, Avery Van Vorhis and Sawyer Van Vorhis; great grandsons, Caleb John DeBoard and Andrew Wayne DeBoard; sisters, Virginia Braley of Casper, Wyo., and JoAnn Touchstone of Abilene, Texas; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Norman DeBoard of Marshall; and sister Geraldine Collett of McPherson, Kansas. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Friday, November 6, 2015, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday evening, November 5, 2015, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma September 7, 2017 April 6, 1933 ~ October 31, 2015 Evelyn Irene Johnson DeBoard, 84, of Allen, TX, went to be with her Savior on September 4, 2017. Evelyn was born April 6, 1933 to Ira Orin and Lenore Hardy Johnson in Hunter, OK.br> She grew up in the Hunter and Kremlin, OK communities and graduated from Kremlin High School and Enid Business College.br> She married Robert E. DeBoard in Hunter on August 22, 1953. They made their home in Ft. Smith, AR and Indianapolis, IN while Robert served in the Army. Later, they made their home in Enid, Stillwater and Tulsa, OK; Atlanta, GA; and Houston and Allen, TX.br> Evelyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Allen. She made her profession of faith at the Hunter Christian Church in April 1945.br> She loved volunteering at Memorial City Hospital in Houston and Texas Health Resources in Allen.br> She loved piecing quilts and bowling. Most of all, she took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Brent DeBoard of Dalton, GA; Jana and husband, Doug VanVorhis, of Plano, TX; and Amy and husband, Craig Sutton, of Parker, TX. Evelyn is also survived by grandchildren, Ryan DeBoard and wife, Kristin, of Mt. Juliet, TN; Christopher DeBoard and wife, Emily, of Bartlett, TN; Zachary Sutton of Las Vegas, NV; Austin Sutton and wife, Megan, of Norman, OK; Lindsey Sutton of Parker, TX; Emory Van Vorhis, Avery Van Vorhis and Sawyer Van Vorhis of Plano, TX. Great grandsons are Caleb DeBoard and Andrew DeBoard of Mt Juliet, TN; and great granddaughter Cayden Holland is from Barlett, TN. Evelyn is also survived by sister, Velma Schultz, of Enid, OK; sisters-in-law, Lorene Johnson, of Breckenridge, OK; and Virginia Braley of Casper, WY. She also had many adoring nieces and nephews and extended family of loving friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents; sister Bernice Buss; brothers Alvin, Lawrence and Walter Johnson; nephews Earl and Merle Buss; and niece Earlene Johnson Poindexter. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Allen, Texas.br> A funeral service will also be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Anderson Burris Funeral Home in Enid, Oklahoma.br> Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in North Enid. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
