William Davis
1904 ~ January 5, 1966


William Baker, 65, died June 5, 1966 in a local hospital after an illness of only a few days. He was a native of Republic County Kansas and came to Oklahoma in 1950 where he lived until his death. At the time of his death, he was working for First National Bank and Trust Co. He was a member of Maine Nazarene Church.

Funeral services were held June 7, 1966 in Maine Nazarene Church with Rev. Orville Firestone officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger Allen Funeral Home of Enid.

He was survived by his wife Vella; three daughters: Chloella Buller of Enid, Mona Doorchester of Bethany and Sarah Baker of Enid; two sons: William Baker of Enid and Jerry Baker of Stillwater; a brother Marion Baker of Medicine Lodge Kansas; and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral for Evelyn L. Davis, 89, will be 2 p.m. Monday in Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.



She was born Aug. 10, 1913, in Meno to Peter and Dena Eck and died Friday, July 18, 2003.

She graduated from Enid High School, then married Claud A. Davis in 1936.

She was manager of Emerson Junior High School cafeteria and retired from Enid School System after 27 years of service.

She moved to Independence, Mo., then to Sapulpa. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Bixby.

Surviving are one daughter, Coletta Gaddis of Tulsa; one son, Charles of Independence; one sister, Josephine Breese of Moravia, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.

Clifford Raymond "Bus" Davis
May 28, 1914 ~ April 15, 1987


Clifford R. "Bus" Davis, 72, died early Wednesday at his home, 3101 Indian Drive, after a period of ill health. Services will be at 2 PM Saturday at Oakwood Christian Church with R. Joe Wilson and Dan Wilson, ministers of the church, officiating.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by Landusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born May 28, 1914, in Loyal to Charley and Nina Davis.

He attended Loyal schools and on March 30, 1935.

He married Beatrice Blunk in Kingfisher.

He farmed in the Loyal and Hennessy communities before moving to Enid, where he worked in the meat market at Morris Grocery for several years.

The couple celebrated its 52nd wedding anniversary March 30.

He was a charter member of Oakwood Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bea; four daughters, Beverly Merett, Garden Grove, California, Phyllis Nighswonger, Oakridge, Oregon, Luan Sirk, Silver Springs, Florida, and Barbara Boeckman, Enid; a son, Charles, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a brother, Edwin, Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Sgt Ray Gene Davis, who died in the Vietnam War, a brother, a sister, a granddaughter and a great grandson.

Memorials may be made to Garfield County Hospice Association or Oakwood Christian Church, Building Fund.

Beatrice Anabell [Blunk] Davis

A celebration of life for Beatrice Davis, 102, of Enid will be 2:00 pm, Monday, April 22, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev Jim Edmison officiating.

Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Beatrice Anabell Davis was born December 21, 1916 on the family farm and passed away April 15, 2019 in Enid.

On March 30,1935 she married the love of her life Clifford Davis and together they had six children.

Beatrice spent her working years as a homemaker and seamstress, during that time she cared for many children in her home. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Beatrice is survived by her daughter Barbara Boeckman; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 23 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Davis; her five children, Beverly Merett, Phyllis Nighswonger, Luann Swiggett, Ray Davis, and Charles Davis.

Grace [Hronopulos] Davis
January 24, 1923 ~ September 29, 2014


Grace Hronopulos Davis passed away September 29, 2014, at the age of 91. She was a lifelong resident of Enid, being born on January 24, 1923, to Helen and George Hronopulos.

She attended Adams, Longfellow and Enid High. She excelled academically and in all sports, especially tennis.

She met her husband Jack Davis at Enid Business College. They married in Skagway, Alaska, a great adventure, and were together 65 years. They raised four children, Helen, Holly, Melinda and George.

She has four brothers and sisters living, John Hronopulos, Sodie Swinehart, Audie Pitsiri and Effie Outhier.

She had three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.

After World War II, Grace and Jack began business together with a concession stand at Government Springs Park. She was much of the "backbone" of the business.

She was active in later years in developing real estate and making many business decisions. Grace loved the YMCA, where she played raquetball, instructed and served on the board.

A great reader all her life, Grace also loved Life Long Learning.

She recently worked with Adams Elementary to enhance the learning opportunities of the students by providing technology and other improvements.

She was a learned, generous and gentle lady who will be missed by all who love her.

A private family graveside service will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 11 a.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Friends and Family are invited to a reception Saturday, October 4 2014, at 1 p.m. at George and Becky’s, 916 Brookside Drive. Please come.

Celebration of life service for Norma L. Davis, 88, of Enid, will be 2:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2019, at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev Emily Robnett officiating.

A private family burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery before the service.

Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Norma was born September 16, 1931, in Woodward, OK to Orley and Gertrude [White] Spake, and passed away on Friday December 20, 2019 in Enid.

Norma grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School. She then moved to Enid and attended Enid Business College.

On April 20, 1952 Norma married Robert "Bob" Davis in Woodward. Due to Bob's military career they lived in several places.

Norma worked in civil service.

They moved to Enid in 1972, and she retired from civil service in 1992.

Norma was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and Thunderbird Camping.

Norma is survived by her children Michael and Julie Davis and Patty and John Trimmer all of Enid; 4 grandchildren Austin Davis, Ashton Davis, Molly Trimmer [ess Reynolds] and John Trimmer III [Chelsea]; 2 great grandchildren John Trimmer IV and Samuel Trimmer; and 2 brothers Roger Spake [Margorie] of South Haven, Mississippi, and Orley Spake of Edmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Bob on March 19, 2015.

Darrell Eugene Davis

Graveside service for Darrell Davis, 79 of Enid, will be Monday, October 3, 2022 at 1:00 pm in Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Deacon Tony Crispo officiating. Military honors will be by U.S. Navy. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Darrell was born on October 28, 1942 in Madison, Wisconsin to Ross and Marie Davis and died on September 29, 2022 in Enid, Oklahoma.

He grew up in Madison until moving to Enid at the age of 7.

Darrell graduated from Enid High School and enlisted in the US Navy. He served 4-1/2 years until his discharge.

Following his discharge, he lived several places, before returning to Enid.

Darrell worked for 33 years as a machinist at Central Machine and Tool.

He enjoyed reloading ammo, target shooting, carpentry, and water skiing.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kristine Davis and Bobbie Davis; one grandchild, Celeste Bretado; second wife, Rosalina Davis and her son, Jesar Davis; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Helen Frances Davis, 61, will be Saturday at 11 am at University Place Christian Church. Pastor Jerry Galbreath will officiate. Burial of her cremains will occur prior to the service at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Helen was born September 26, 1945, in Enid, to Jack and Grace Hronopulos Davis and passed away Friday, November 17, 2006.

She graduated Enid High School in 1963, and earned a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, at Norman.

Helen was a member of the University Place Christian Church.

She was a volunteer at the Cherokee Strip Museum and a member of Enid's Lifelong Learning Program.

Helen wrote children's books for her grandchildren and poetry. She enjoyed painting and photographing nature.

She is survived by her parents, Grace and Jack, of Enid; one daughter, Melinda Goodwin and her husband Shane and their children Blake and Lily of Plano, TX; two sisters, Holly Wilson and her husband George of Plano, TX, Melinda Davis of Sasser, Ga.; one brother, George Davis and his wife Becky Anderson of Enid; several nieces and nephews.

Ray Gene Davis
November 22, 1947 ~ July 14, 1969


Ray Gene Davis was a native of Enid, Oklahoma, born on 22 November 1947 to Clifford R. and Beatrice [Blunk] Davis. Ray graduated from Enid High School in 1966. He entered the service December 4, 1967 and took his basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He went to Virginia for special training before going over seas.

Sgt. Davis had served his year in Vietnam and was scheduled to return home Sunday, 27 July 1969. He was reported killed in action in the Republic of Vietnam on July 14, 1969, during a night aircraft collision. At the time of his death he was a crew chief and helicopter gunner for the United States Army.

He was survived by his wife, the former Beverly McIntosh of the home; a son Matthew Ray; his parents, Mr and Mrs Clifford R. Davis, 2726 East Cherokee; four sisters, Mrs Beverly [John] Merritt, West Lake, Calif. ; Mrs Wayne [ Phyllis] Nighswanger, of Alva; Mrs Gary [Luann] Swigett, Lahoma;and Barbara Davis of Enid; one brother Charles of Enid; his maternal grand father, W. H. Blunk, of Marshall.

Funeral services for Army Staff Sgt Ray Gene Davis, 21, 2202 W. Randolph were set for 2 pm Sunday in the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev Bobby Sunderland and Rev Stanley Jenkins officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

A Note from The Virtual Wall
Four men of C Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry, died in the crash of their UH-1B [tail number 62-02063]:

CW2 Ernest Doom Burns, pilot
MAJ Thomas Moody Felton, pilot
SGT Ray Gene Davis, crew chief
PFC Dewey Renee Butler, gunner

The UH-1B was on a night combat support mission in company with an OH-6A LOACH when the two aircraft collided. Both went down, killing all four on the UH-1B. The three crewmen on OH-6A 67-16601 were seriously injured but were recovered and survived.

A recovery team visited the UH-1B crash site and visually identified all four bodies. The remains were brought back to camp, but Butler's body disappeared before an official positive identification could be made. Animal tracks were found leading away from the area and it was belived that his remains had been carried away. His body was not recovered.

William Charles "Charlie" Davis

A Celebration of Life for William Charles "Charlie" Davis is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Garden Chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Vernon Lee officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Charlie was born March 15, 1950 in Alva, Oklahoma, to Clifford R. and Beatrice A. [Blunk] Davis, and passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 in Enid.

Charlie attended first grade in Lahoma Public Schools, then the family moved to Enid. He attended Enid Public Schools until his senior year, when he moved back to Lahoma and graduated with the class of 1968, the same class he had attended when he was in the first grade.

After graduation, he attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University for a year. Then after losing his brother during the Vietnam War, he came back home to Enid to work as a welder, which he continued throughout most of his life.

He moved to Florida in 1977, where he married Donna Jarvis. They had two children, Daniel Ray and Katherine Marie. They lived in Florida until Charlie felt the need to move back to Enid to help care for his mother following the loss of his father Clifford.

His favorite leisure time activities were fishing and hunting, especially during deer season.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Raymond Davis; brother, Sgt Ray Gene Davis; three sisters, Luann Swiggett; Phyllis Nighswonger; and Beverly Merett.

He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Davis, of the home in Enid; two children, Daniel Ray Davis, daughter Katie Dodge and husband Adam, all of Kissimmee, Florida; sister, Barbara Boeckman, of Enid; one grandson, Eli Dodge, and twin granddaughters Paisley and Willow Dodge; Uncle Virgil Laubach, of Wyoming; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Charlie's name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Oklahoma, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Eddie Ray Davis
September 26, 1955 ~ June 11, 2019


Eddie Ray Davis age 65 was born in Duncan, Oklahoma to Bob and Virginia Davis. Eddie married Rosa Patterson on November 23, 1974. They have two sons Michael and Ben and a daughter Jessica.

Eddie had a deep love for Jehovah, Bible truths and spreading the Bibles promise for the near future in regards to the Earth and mankind. Which gave him comfort in his final days. He remained a faithful servant until the day of his death.

Eddie worked for City of Enid in Solid Waste for 40 years. He retired from there in 2016. He loved spending time with his loved ones, watching NASCAR, Dale Jr. and the Dallas Cowboys. Eddie will be missed by all who knew him. Coffee and NASCAR will never be the same.

Eddie is survived by his stepmother Doris Davis, wife Rosa, son Michael and his wife Jackie, son Ben and his wife Sadie, daughter Jessica and her husband Marco Fuerst, and his sister Jackie Davis. Five grandchildren Tylor, Hailey, Ashli, Christian, and Taleah. Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his dad Bob and brothers Rodger and Ricky.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, at 10:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 829 West Moore Enid, Oklahoma. All friends and family are welcome to attend.

Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Greg was born April 4, 1953 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Clifton L. and Maxine V. [Laxton] Davis.

He graduated from Cherokee High School in 1971.

He was married to Doris Towes of Kansas in 1971. Greg married Toni Hutchison in 1979. He and Toni have resided in Enid all their time together.

He enjoyed playing pool, softball, watching OU football, riding his Harley and being with his friends and family.

Greg is survived by his wife of forty years, Toni Davis; son, Travis Davis and his wife Kim; daughters, Alisha Davis and Emily Davis; grandchildren, Sofie, Taylor, Kaydence, Lakynn, Devin, Jacob, Andrea, Clifton and Misty; numerous great grandchildren; parents, Clifton and Maxine Davis; siblings, Joe Davis and his wife Susan and Julie Davis; several nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son Mark.

Richard Dean Davis

The funeral service for Richard Dean Davis, 53-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Wade Burleson, pastor, will officiate. Burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Richard was born Aug. 2, 1955, in Perry, OK, to Loren Dean and Dorothy Pearl [Brown] Davis. He died Friday, November 28, 2008.

He graduated from Enid Public Schools and married Raye Tripp on April 25, 1975. They had recently celebrated 33 years of marriage.

He worked for Western Enterprises every year for a number of years at the 4th of July show at Meadowlake. Richard was known as Mr Fix-It, who loved to camp, fish and graden. He would help anyone in need, was always very kind and loving, and had an all-around gentle nature. He loved his entire family very deeply.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bill Steel; grandparents, Mr and Mrs H.A. Brown and Mr and Mrs Floyd Davis, as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr and Mrs Marion Tripp.

Richard is survivied by his loving wife, Raye, and son, Jacob, both of the home; his parents of Enid; and two sisters, Susan Steel of Enid and Trudy Musgrove of North Port, FL.

Raye Ann [Tripp] Davis

Raye Ann Davis, 54 year-old Enid OK resident, was born September 5, 1956, in Enid and died in her home Sunday, May 22, 2011.

She attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1974.

On April 25, 1975, she married Richard Davis in Enid where the couple made their home.

She worked for Nicholas Real Estate for a time and then for the law offices of Mitchell and DeClerck for over 20 years.

She enjoyed gardening, camping, and fishing at the lake.

She is survived by her son Jacob R. Davis of the home, brother John Everett Tripp and wife Ginny of Enid, and sister Nila Carol [Tripp] Constable and husband John R. of Enid. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2008.
