© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma January 10, 2019 June 11, 1933 ~ January 07, 2019 The funeral service for Lorrel Lee Cray, 85, Enid, is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Barrie Henke officiating. Burial follows in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:00 p.m. this evening, January 11, 2019, at the funeral home. Lorrel was born June 11, 1933, in Enid to Wendell Gene and Marjorie Doremus Cray, and passed away on January 7, 2019, at the Timbers Skilled Nursing Facility in Edmond. He attended school at Waukomis and Enid High School before joining the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1955. On August 2, 1954, he married Cleta Ann Hardesty in Enid. They had four children. Lorrel was an automobile mechanic. He worked for Semke Rambler, Chevrolet and Janzen Oldsmobile. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Enid, a 32 Degree Mason and a Shriner. He owned and drove a small car during parades with the Shrine Unit. He also drove the Shrine Train, and worked with the stage team at Guthrie. He loved to hunt, as well as create model cars and tractors. He is survived by his three daughters, Deborah and husband Jim Fletchall of Marlow, Lori Passaro and husband Norman Armentrout of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, and Teresa and husband Kevin Ewing of Edmond; mother of his children Cleta Erickson, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son Richard Lee Cray. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project or the charity of your choice, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. © Henninger Allen Funeral Home Garfield County, OK June 1977 December 23, 1956 ~ June 12, 1977 Funeral service has been set Wednesday for Richard Lee Cray, 20, Hennessey, killed Sunday when the truck he was driving collided with another truck on a country road one-half mile southwest of Fairmont. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the American Lutheran Church with the Rev. lan Reuter officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. he body will lie in state until noon Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that those who wish contribute to their favorite charity or a memorial fund that has been established at the church. The church and funeral home will serve as custodians of this fund. Cray was born December 28, 1956 in Enid. He was graduated from Enid High with the class of 1975. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force, serving six months. At the time of his death, he was employed by Astro Well Service. the firm for whom he had worked since high school. He was affiliated with the American Lutheran Church in Enid. "Ricky was very sweet and kind, he kept to himself and was soft spoken. He absolutely loved driving his truck, it was by far his favorite thing to do. We hold him close and dear to our hearts, he is loved and missed even all of these years later." |
