© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma March 5, 2017 The funeral service for Billie Louise Copeland will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, at Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev Terry Chick officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation with family will be from 2-4 p.m. today, March 5, 2017, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Billie was born January 28, 1922, in Sedan, Kansas, to Walter and Mae [Anderson] Williams and passed away March 3, 2017, in Enid. She attended Sedan schools and graduated Sedan High School with the class of 1940. In September of that same year, Billie married Madison J. Copeland, and after he served in the European Theater, the couple moved to Enid, making it their home, where Billie was a homemaker and raised the kids. Billie was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church, where she played the organ alongside her husband for 40 years. She served as a volunteer at St Mary's Medical Center. She served as president, as well as other offices for the Auxiliary for over 23 years. Billie enjoyed baking, cooking and sewing, but mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren. Billie is survived by her daughter, Kathy Whitney and husband, Joe of Bossier City, La.; son, Tim Copeland and wife, Lisa of Enid; grandchildren, Stephanie, Brooke, Heather, Courtney and Erica; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Margie and Helen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Walter. © Anderson~Burris Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma March 2012 January 30, 1944 ~ March 24, 2012 A funeral service for Mildred Marie Copeland, age 68, will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Your Family Church, with Pastor Rick Dominic officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be Monday evening 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Mildred was born to Arthur and Alene [Rogers] Cornelius on January 30, 1944, in Benton, Arkansas, and died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at her home in Enid. Mildred grew up in North Enid. On June 24, 1966, she married Ivan Duane Copeland in Pampa, Texas. They lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, Norman, and then Phoenix for 28 years. She retired from the Phoenix Police Department as a police assistant. They moved back to Enid, and she was a nail tech, cake decorator, and enjoyed ceramics, upholstery, and raising parrots. Mildred was a member of Your Family Church. She is survived by husband Ivan; children Michael Copeland of Phoenix, Arizona, Gina Hughes of Ogden, Utah, Tracy Copeland [Kim] of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Kandi Manzanares [Ruben] of West Jordan, Utah; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers Lindy Cornelius of Enid, Jim Sewell of London, Arkansas; three sisters, Sharon Miller of Kansas City, Missouri, Drucilla Melbe and Lavelle Robertson, both of Enid. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, brother Buddy Cornelius, and two sons-in-law, Frank and Kim. Memorials are to Hospice Circle of Love. |
