Roberta "Bobbye" BEDELL COMER

Graveside service for Roberta “Bobbye” Comer, 87, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Jarrod Cloud officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Roberta was born to Arthur and Alta Pearl (Hoskins) Bedell on Nov. 14, 1925, in the Garber-Covington oil field, and passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Enid.

Roberta went to work at Marquise Studio in 1941. On Aug. 30, 1944, she married E.S. Comer in Enid. They lived in Virginia, where he was a Marine stationed at Quantico. Roberta worked as an assistant photographer at Fort Belvoir, Va. After moving back to Enid, she worked at Marquise Studio again until 1968. Roberta later went to night school and earned her GED. In 1966, she took the Home Health Aid Course and took care of her mother until she passed away. Roberta continued to work in home health care for 12 years. She was blessed to have her family close, and her favorite hobby was cooking, especially cookies and candy. She was a member of Enid First Assembly of God Church.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband in 1991, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by son, Clay Comer and wife Betty of Enid; two granddaughters, Stephanie Chitsy and husband Rodney and her children Krystian, Sheldon and Jayden Chadwick, and Doris Clingenpeel and husband Jeremy and their children, Preston, Anna, and Avree Clingenpeel, all of Enid.
