© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma April 5, 2013 November 14, 1925 ~ April 3, 2013 Graveside service for Roberta “Bobbye” Comer, 87, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Rev Jarrod Cloud officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Roberta was born to Arthur and Alta Pearl [Hoskins] Bedell on November 14, 1925, in the Garber-Covington oil field, and passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Enid. Roberta went to work at Marquise Studio in 1941. On August 30, 1944, she married E.S. Comer in Enid. They lived in Virginia, where he was a Marine stationed at Quantico. Roberta worked as an assistant photographer at Fort Belvoir, Va. After moving back to Enid, she worked at Marquise Studio again until 1968. Roberta later went to night school and earned her GED. In 1966, she took the Home Health Aid Course and took care of her mother until she passed away. Roberta continued to work in home health care for 12 years. She was blessed to have her family close, and her favorite hobby was cooking, especially cookies and candy. She was a member of Enid First Assembly of God Church. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband in 1991, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by son, Clay Comer and wife Betty of Enid; two granddaughters, Stephanie Chitsy and husband Rodney and her children Krystian, Sheldon and Jayden Chadwick, and Doris Clingenpeel and husband Jeremy and their children, Preston, Anna, and Avree Clingenpeel, all of Enid. |

© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma August 10, 2021 August 20, 1947 ~ August 8, 2021 Graveside service for Arthur "Clay" Comer will be Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Cremation arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Arthur "Clay" Comer was born on August 20, 1947, in Enid, Oklahoma, to E.S. and Roberta [Bedell] Comer, and passed away suddenly on August 8, 2021. Clay graduated from Enid High School in 1965 and attended college at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee. Clay met his "beautiful bride", Betty Dysart, in June 1974, and they were then married in Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church on December 14, 1974. Clay was an active member of Saint Gregory's Catholic Church of Enid as well as a member of the Blue Lodge [Garfield Lodge 501, Coronado 56, Enid 80] and honorably served as the Grand Chaplin for the State of Oklahoma Grand Lodge in 1999. Clay was well known for the "colorful" stores he told, as a friend to many, and his ability to talk to ANYONE, Everywhere! Clay was also a member of the Guthrie Valley Scottish Rite, a friendly Shrine clown named "Zeke", and earned his 33rd Degree. He is survived by his wife Betty of Enid; two daughters, Stephanie Chitsey and husband Rodney and Doris Clingenpeel and husband Jeremy; six grandchildren, Krystian, Sheldon and Jayden Chadwick, Preston, Anna and Avree Clingenpeel. Clay was preceded in death by his parents, E.S. and Robert Comer. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and for keeping him alive with the stories he shared with so many.
