Donald Lee "Don" Cokeley
June 6, 1930 ~ Dec. 24, 2005


The funeral for Donald L. Cokeley, 75, of Enid will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hawley Baptist Church. The Revs. Les Nikkel and Gary Lillie will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

He was born June 6, 1930, at Enid to Lewis and Nellie Munkres Cokeley and died Saturday, December 24, 2005.

He graduated from Enid High School in 1948. He enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard, serving as property book officer until 1986. He received numerous decorations.

He served 19 years as a Nescatunga volunteer firefighter and first responder. He was inducted into the Alfalfa County Hall of Fame in November 1998.

He married Maida Franke July 15, 1950.

Surviving are his wife, Maida of the home; one son, Larry of Nash; one sister, Mary Johnson of Enid; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Nescatunga Rural Fire Department or Hawley Baptist Church.

April 9, 1932 ~ January 3, 2017


The funeral service for Maida J. Cokeley is 10 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, at the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Gary Lillie and Pastor Les Nikkel officiating.

Visitation with family is 9 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial follows in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Maida was born April 9, 1932, in Enid to Elmer and Hazel [Hasbrook] Franke and passed away January 3, 2017.

Maida attended local area schools and graduated from Enid High.

She married Donald Lee Cokeley July 15, 1950, in Enid, making it their home until 1969 when they moved North of Salt Plains Lake.

Maida was a longtime member of Vining Community Church and the Jet Extension Club.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and water skiing. She also enjoyed pet sitting her grand-dogs, but most loved taking trips with her grandkids.

Maida is survived by her son, Larry Cokeley and his wife, Janet of Pond Creek; granddaughters, Jenna Spencer and her husband, Wesley of Enid; Laura Deterding and her husband, Thomas of Carrier; brothers, Loren and Nate Franke; sister, Peggy Davis and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Walter Franke.

Memorials may be made to Golden Oaks Village with the Funeral Home acting as custodian of the fund.
