January 10, 1915 - April 24, 1997

Funeral services for Russell L. Cockrell, 82, of Enid, will be at 10 AM Monday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Tony Crispo and Rev. Steve McClaren officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Russell was born on January 10, 1915, in Enid to John Carl and Edna Hazel Robertson Cockrell. On Thursday, a true 24, 1997, Russell died at the Methodist Golden Age Home.

On April 4, 1937, Russell married the former Helen Earhart in Enid. This month they had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. With the help of his wife, Russell established Cockrell Sheet Metal in 1947. He retired due to health in 1987.

Russell is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home, two daughters, Catherine Bray and Jeannie Buzitta and their spouses of Enid, seven grandchildren and five great – grandchildren, one brother, Glenn cockrell of Marion, Indiana; two sisters, Irene Bess, of Brooksville, Florida, and Enid Waldroupe of Ft. Ritchie, Florida.

Russell was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Shipley and one sister, Helen Jobe.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer's Division.
