The funeral for Coleman Edward Claypole, 82, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Keith Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by An-derson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

He was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Enid to Joseph Coleman and Lala Brady Claypole and died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at his home in Enid.

He grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School. He served in the Navy during World War II.

He married Barbara Clark Sept. 5, 1952, in South Haven, Kan. They made their home in Enid where he worked 37 years for Champlin Refinery. He also was a driver for Enid Transfer and was past chief steward of O.C.A.W. and was the operator of Perry Acres Rural Water Association. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara, of the home; two sons, Joe Claypole of Enid and David Claypole of Chickasha; one brother, Donald Claypole of Hutchison, Kan.; four grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, one brother and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or First Baptist Church building fund.

ENID — Funeral service for Barbara J. Claypole, 80, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Miller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be 5:30-7 p.m. today at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home.

She was born to Beulah "Fern" (Gage) and Phillip M. Clark on Nov. 17, 1930, in Arkansas City, Kan., and died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, in Enid.

Barbara grew up in Hunnewell, Kan., and graduated from South Haven High School. She worked as a PBX operator for Southwestern Bell.

On Sept. 5, 1952, she married Coleman Claypole. They made their home in Enid.

Barbara was a PBX operator at NORCE, Central National Bank and later St. Mary's Hospital. After her retirement she babysat for her grandsons and also worked in the nursery at First Baptist Church, Garland Road Baptist Church and St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church and Thunderbirds Camping Club.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Joe and Connie Claypole of Enid, and David Claypole of Chickasha; four grandsons, Travis and Kristin Claypole, Jeff and Amy Ernst, Clint and McKiesha Claypole and Matt Ernst; three great-granddaughters, Brooklynn Kay, Molly Ann and Ava Madelyn; and two sisters, Phyllis Bradfield of Arkansas City, Kan., and Beverly Meeker of South Haven, Kan.

She was preceded in death by husband, Coleman, in 2007; daughter, Martha Claypole; and great-grandson, Tucker Claypole.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Nursery.
