ENID, OK — Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Evelyn M. Chambers, 77, of Enid, Okla., will be 1 p.m. today, June 28, 2014, at Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory in St. Joseph, Mo., with the Rev. Larry Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery. Local arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Evelyn was born May 21, 1937, in Flora, Ind., the daughter of John and Esther Rodkey Oyler, and passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at her residence.

She was united in marriage to James J. Chambers Jr. on June 30, 1954, in Rosendale, Mo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1986.

She was saved and baptized in 1978. She enjoyed quilting and had just finished a quilt for a great-grandbaby-to-be. She will be remembered as loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include two daughters, April Young and husband Michael of Ringwood, Okla., and Kelly Chambers of St. Joseph, Mo.; five sons, Scott Chambers, Craig Chambers, Andrew Chambers and wife Anne, and Tracy Chambers, all of Enid, Okla., and Douglas Chambers of St. Joseph, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with three more on the way; two brothers, Kenneth Oyler of Pennsylvania and Harry Oyler of Texas; and two sisters, Barbara Chambers of Missouri and Jane Harness of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents and youngest son, Timothy T. Chambers.
