Walterine Carson, 95, of Garber, Okla., was the daughter of Walter and Grace (Pyle) Davis. She was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Chattanooga, Okla., and passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at The Commons in Enid.

She married her sweetheart and best friend, Cecil Winfield Carson, in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1997.

Walterine enjoyed quilting, all types of needlework and playing cards. If the weather was nice, she could be found working in the yard or in her garden. When she was not working in the yard, you could find her out socializing with her friends, but above all, she loved spending time with her family, and when they were unable to be there, she loved just looking at their pictures.

Walterine was a charter member of the Nuway Club of Garber, Okla. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Garber and a member of United Methodist Women.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, Garber. Pastor Linda Pope will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Service is under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home, Garber. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today, Dec. 3, at Dugger Funeral Home, Garber.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Garber, OK 73738.

Walterine is survived by two sons, John Carson and wife Eloise of Tunica, Miss., and Glen Carson and wife Sandy of Garber, Okla.; six grandchildren, Lori Sims of Garber, Heather Reisinger of Nashville, Tenn., Phillip Bruce of Barcelona, Spain, Molly Carson of Little Rock, Ark., Alan Carson of Tunica, Miss., and Scott Carson of Stillwater, Okla.; eight great-grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Al Bruce of Savanna, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Carson; daughter, Linda Bruce; infant son, Donald Wayne Carson; parents, Walter and Grace Davis; and three brothers, Hollis, William and Leo Davis.

Condolences may be sent to the family using the online guestbook at www.duggerfuneralhome.com.
