The memorial service for Dr Roy Barton Carl, 89 year-old Oklahoma City resident will be at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.

There will be a burial preceding the memorial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral home.

Barton was born October 20, 1929 in Enid to Dr Roy Carl and Amy Hinson Carl and died July 4, 2019 in Oklahoma City surrounded by his family.

He attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1947. He attended Phillip’s University obtaining a degree in Biology.

During his time at Phillip’s he worked at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. He then attended Oklahoma Medical school and earned a MD and then to Duke University where he trained in Neurology and Medicine.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force in July of 1957 where he was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany at the USAF Hospital. This is where he met the love of his life, Bea Kukcinovich. They were married on May 5, 1958. They returned to Oklahoma City in 1959. He completed three more years of residency in neuro-surgery.

On July 1, 1963 he joined the practice of Dr Harry Wilkins and Dr Jess Herrman where he practiced for over 21 years.

He was a long-time member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was an avid competitive rifle marksman. He was a long-time member of the NRA.

He is survived by his sons; John Carl and wife Kathy and their children William and Andrew and Peter Carl and wife Ginny and their children Collin and Rachel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Bea.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson 601 W. Broadway Enid, OK. 73701 to the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
