A wake service for James A. Butts, 67, will be held at 7 PM Sunday at Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be said at 10 AM Monday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with the Rev.'s Paul H. Gallatin and Bruce K. Natuhara officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Butts died Thursday morning at his home. He was born in Enid May 1, 1920, to James O. and Esther Butts. He attended schools in Enid and Ringwood. A veteran of World war I I, Butts once was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and retired from the George E Failing company in 1985 after 33 years.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier church, St. Francis men's club and the American Legion. He married Betty Reed June 7, 1942 in Enid. They farmed in the Billings-Garber area until returning to Enid in 1952.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; a daughter, Betty Ann; two sons, Eddie of Enid and Johnny of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. James (June) Madison and Mrs. Robert (Sophia Jane) Befort, both of Enid; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Memorials may be made to Our Daily Bread feeding program at St. Francis Xavier Church, through the funeral home.
